The incredible potential of induced pluripotent stem cells https://newatlas.com/induced-pluripotent-stem-cells/58965/ [JS site] … "At that moment, I thought, 'This must be some kind of mistake'," Yamanaka said, according to an account of the discovery in Nature. https://www.nature.com/news/how-ips-cells-changed-the-world-1.20079 But repeat experiments proved it to be anything but and the breakthrough would serve as a springboard for all kinds of medical research pursuits. Suddenly the thick, morality-lined clouds that hovered over embryonic stem cell research were parting to make way brighter, happier times. And stem cells harvested from adult cells rather than embryos would not only be a lot less controversial, but promise some practical benefits too, including lower risks of rejection by the immune system because they can be created from a patients own cells. … Taking the fight to Parkinson's Putting a spinal cord back together again? Giving diabetics their insulin production back Regrowing damaged hearts Baldness … In this case "this one wierd trick" is this one wierd bit of science.

> Secure laptop advice? / Smartphone purchase advice ? Obviously buy only unlocked carrier independant phones cash upfront no financing, fuck the carriers. Bonus is they won't come preloaded with carrier blingware, only manufacturer blingware. Most of the manufacturer warez can be avoided with... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_One http://www.android.com/one/ You can also customise, compile and emulate test Android OS. Strip out the entire Google app suite, search, play, tunes, all the useless apps, spy, network and battery eaters, background daemons, all gone. Set your own security defaults in ROM, etc... https://source.android.com/ https://www.xda-developers.com/ GPS chip / antenna / pwb traces can be physically disabled, same for camera, microphone. Learn on freebie recycled phones before hacking on your Librem, Purisim, or whatever. Still doesn't solve the baseband HW backdoor issue. For that today you'd need VOIP number provider via WiFi via cellular hotspot, or an OpenBTS etc SDR setup. Intel is a top secret behemoth, so AMD should be preferred by default just for competition sake while #OpenHW rolls. There's somewhat more open Power9 platforms... https://www.raptorcs.com/TALOSII/ Plus all the ARM and random *boards HW out there, most of which isn't truly open. At least don't buy WinTel systems. Today you can also easily startup and adopt... #OpenFabs , #OpenHW , #OpenSW , #OpenDev , #OpenBiz , #OpenAudits , etc #CryptoCurrency So far it seems no one's minds are deprogrammed redpilled and free enough to actually imagine and come together to initiate that FTW, so all we still see for decades is same dumbass questions... - What untrusted CPU / Laptop / Phone / Gear to buy? - Give me Fiat Which is nothing more than kissing your master's ass. They love that. The first to market with verifiable trustworthy #OpenHW made in #OpenFabs will make immense profits from sectors that need that assurance.

Global Censorship: Putin's RU Just Fucked Your Free Speech, ht NZ

Insults against Putin himself can be punished under the law, The Moscow Times reports. Punishments can be as high as 300,000 rubles ($4,700) and 15 days in jail. A second bill subjects sites publishing "unreliable socially significant information" to fines as high as 1.5 million rubles ($23,000). [T]he Russian government has "essentially unconstrained authority to determine that any speech is unacceptable. One consequence may be to make it nearly impossible for individuals or groups to call for public protest activity against any action taken by the state," "Hey Putin... 1/2020th pure White Elizabeth Warran pledges ‘Tarrant plan’ action - TDS soon to go dark - [PEACE]
by Zenaan Harkness 20 Mar '19

20 Mar '19

NPCs such as USA presidential hopeful "pure White", 1/2020th margin of error Elizabeth Warran, are so predictable it's funny - catalyzed by the Tarrant plan, lead by the Tarrant plan, promising the Tarrant plan. [shakes head] Telstra (our largest ISP) is completely censoring TheDailyStormer, 4Chan, 8Chan and others ... this speech thang is a war zone folks. So the Onions are a current option, and EepSites may soon be required installing for those who wonder at the implied-monitoring and subsequent shaping (down, but most honorously, up) of Tor entry nodes not under yer own control. What a world we live in... Daily Stormer's Tor URL: http://dstormer6em3i4km.onion/ The Tor Project - even this is censored in Australia atm, so grab a Tor browser somehow eh? https://www.torproject.org/ Brave Browser perhaps: https://brave.com/download/ See here: http://dstormer6em3i4km.onion/daily-stormer-kiwi-farms-4chan-and-8chan-bloc… or here: http://dailystormer.name/daily-stormer-kiwi-farms-4chan-and-8chan-blocked-b… Note: Brave Browser's "new private tab with Tor" option is not in the Android version, must be a desktop browser feature for the moment... https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-install-tor-for-chrome-for-even… https://tor.stackexchange.com/questions/3435/how-do-i-configure-chrome-to-u… https://techviral.net/access-tor-network-on-chrome-browser/ https://fossbytes.com/best-alternatives-to-tor-browser-to-browse-anonymousl… https://geti2p.net/ https://subgraph.com/sgos/ https://cyberogism.com/2016/06/how-vpn-works-and-its-benefits/ Pure Aryan Master Race Liz Warren Endorses the “Tarrant Plan,” Pledges to Arrest White Nationalists for Their Beliefs http://dstormer6em3i4km.onion/pure-aryan-master-race-liz-warren-endorses-th… … He wrote in his manifesto, http://dstormer6em3i4km.onion/permanent-link-brenton-tarrants-smart-manifes… under the heading of “Why did you carry out the attack?”: To agitate the political enemies of my people into action, to cause them to overextend their own hand and experience the eventual and inevitable backlash as a result. Further in, he writes: The United States is in turmoil, more so that at any other time in history. States hate other states, the electoral college is under attack at every turn and the races are at each others throats. On top of this is a two party political system, split by racial, social, cultural, linguistic and class divides. The end result is a nation in gridlock, unable to respond to any great change, unable to commit to any great projects. A political and social stalemate that makes any advancement impossible. Meanwhile the 10000 ton boulder of demographic change rolls ever forward, gaining momentum and possibly destroying all in its path. Eventually, when the white population of the USA realizes the truth of the situation, war will erupt. Soon the replacement of the whites within Texas will hit its apogee and with the non-white political and social control of Texas; and with this control, the electoral college will be heavily stacked in favor of a democratic victory so that every electoral cycle will be a certainty. After an election cycle or two with certain Democratic victory, those remaining, non democratic voting, non brainwashed whites will see the future clear before them, and with this knowledge realize the impossibility of a diplomatic or political victory. Within a short time regular and widespread political, social and racial violence will commence. In this tempest of conflict is where will be strike, a strong, unified, ethnically and culturally focused pro-white, pro-european group will be everything the average white family need and long for. With these boosted numbers, and with our unified forces, complete control of the United states will be possible. Above all be ready for violence, and when the times comes, strike hard and fast. There is no way that Elizabeth Warren would come out and announce that she is going to do exactly what Tarrant wants American politicians to do, which he planned in order to start a race war, unless she is an Aryan accelerationist shill and a pied piper for the Democrats, purposefully inciting a race war in order to create an America that is as racially pure as her own blood. If she was not an Aryan shill, then coming out after a mass casualty shooting and announcing that as president she will do exactly what Brenton Tarrant wants her to do would be completely insane. No one is that stupid. … http://dstormer6em3i4km.onion/im-not-sure-you-understand-how-serious-this-i… “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.” Hunter S. Thompson

Herodotus Boats: Unsunk
by grarpamp 18 Mar '19

https://www.theguardian.com/science/2019/mar/17/nile-shipwreck-herodotus-ar… https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/b2c1cb/nile_shipwreck_discovery… Herodotus, Book II, 96. The boats in which they carry cargo are made of the acacia, which is in form most like to the lotus of Cyrene, and its sap is gum. Of this tree they cut logs of two cubits length and lay them like courses of bricks, and build the boat by making these two‑cubit logs fast to long and close‑set stakes; and having so built they set crossbeams athwart and on the logs. They use no ribs. They caulk the seams within with byblus. There is one rudder, passing through a hole in the boat's keel. The mast is of acacia-wood and the sails of byblus. These boats cannot move upstream unless a brisk breeze continue; they are towed from the bank; but downstream they are thus managed: they have a raft made of tamarisk wood, fastened together with matting of reeds, and a pierced stone of about two talents' weight; the raft is let go to float down ahead of the boat, made fast to it by a rope, and the stone is made fast also by a rope to the after part of the boat. So, driven by the current, the raft floats swiftly and tows the "baris" (which is the name of these boats) , and the stone dragging behind on the river bottom keeps the boat's course straight. There are many of these boats; some are of many thousand talents' burden. http://projects.arch.ox.ac.uk/OCMA-publications.html Ship 17: a baris from Thonis-Heracleion (Ships and boats of the Canopic Region 1; Oxford Centre for Maritime Archaeology Monograph 10) Alexander Belov A detailed analysis of the construction of ship 17, a Late Period vessel discovered by Franck Goddio and a team from the Institut Européen d’Archéologie Sous-Marine during underwater excavations at Thonis-Heracleion, a sunken city in Aboukir bay, Egypt. Drawing upon Herodotus’ description of boat-building, the author concludes that ship 17 is a baris-boat and highlights its specifically Egyptian method of assembly. ISBN: 9781905905362
