Only the set of AMM+seller+buyer would be parties that can see the market tx data. Some crypto could even avoid prefs on txfee by contracting to release a hidden mining fee as second stage mine after the trade tx is mined, forcing miners to mine all tx equally, or starve and exit mining biz. Bitcoin-BTC is obviously subject to mining games based on its 100% cleartext content... censorship there by statistical mass, no cryptographic guarantee of unfettered unobserved fair access. https://eprint.iacr.org/2021/139 https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/3-540-44647-8_31.pdf http://users.ece.cmu.edu/~reiter/papers/1994/TOPLAS.pdf Early days.

Pocket-sized Nuclear Battery
by Karl 09 Apr '21

09 Apr '21

Maybe this has been posted before. https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/green-tech/a35970222/radioactive-d… This company claims it will have a nanotechnology-based, nuclear-waste-powered, nondepleting battery in production by 2023. I'm not sure whether they have an actual prototype, or whether they explain how ionizing particle radiation is supposedly being contained, but it is being published by many news outlets right now. They say they were going to release, then coronavirus suddenly hit and they had to delay.

AP News: Myanmar junta limits internet, seizes satellite TV dishes
by jim bell 08 Apr '21

08 Apr '21

https://apnews.com/article/technology-aung-san-suu-kyi-myanmar-yangon-asia-… Jim Bell's comment: This is one reason I have hopes for SpaceX's Starlink Internet data link system. The Myanmar military can control terrestrial Internet, but they would have much more difficulty blocking Internet from space, and where there is no inherent reason that the Starlink management must obtain the approval of the government of that region. This may be ineffective in a very few cases, such as North Korea or perhaps Cuba, but in the large majority of nations, the governments want the luxury of being 'authoritarian-lite', yet want to have a mostly-functioning Internet. But merely having Starlink doesn't solve the whole problem. What I think Cypherpunk-oriented people could usefully do is to figure out how to. 1 Protect the Starlink ground terminals from detection by RDF (radio direction finding) means. One partial method would be to designate some of these stations as "receive-only", so that they don't give away their locations. 2. An even bigger problem:. How does the information downloaded by a ground station get, usably, to people in that nation, without risking tracing such links? Presumably this will include networks of anonymization sites, if somehow that remains allowed.

Re: [liberationtech] The bitcoin terrorists of Idlib are learning new tricks
by grarpamp 07 Apr '21

> https://www.wired.co.uk/article/bitcoin-crypto-terrorism-syria Anti-crypto FUD. Go look at all what kind of murder crime fraud etc the govts and everyone else does with many billions of dollars, rubles, yuan, etc. While both have similar crime ratios, fiat is still much larger net usage thus it carries magnitudes more crime. But fake news media wouldn't get any propaganda jobs, money, or influence in honestly reporting that fiat story. > learning ... crypto Yes learn and adopt distributed crypto, move past all your colosally obese growing governments that are starting shit, stomping around the world murdering thousand and thousands, torturing, prisoning, starving, stealing money from you under threat of death to stuff their own crony wallets, spyveillancing and passporting you entire life forever, FUD program on 24x7 in your fake news, plotting more ways for GovCorp power to keep sucking your life. Soon you won't even have the cash they keep printing to intentionally devalue your wealth and living ability with, saddling you with more and more of their wasted debt load... since they are now officially rolling out their worthless cashless society fake crypto fiat called Central Bank Digital Currencies CBDC's, MMT and UBI to screw and spy and control you even more, turn you off and forfeit you in a second, and cancel your activism, freespeech, dissent, freedom... totalitarian control in the extreme. Govt lately saying you cant secede to have bit of independence and freedom (catalan, hong kong, taiwan, etc...), locking you down fining you shutting down your business all 2020 corona, politicians baldly lying being idiots on your news, social scoring gone insane. Yet not a peep of effective resistance. Wake up sheeple, to what in the world is happening. GovCorp trying to end your monetary freedom, cashless, etc is no joke... you will lose remaining freedom. You are free beautiful people. You don't need them or their crap anymore. You have crypto, can organize and do and build and teach and roads and charity and health and live as you wish locally and wider, voluntarily, together. Go create freedom. Here are some surrounding subjects hinted in article, with two of them exposing a big underlying problem... http://monzer.kahf.com/fatawa/FATAWA_CURRENCIES_GOLD_COMMODITIES.pdf https://decrypt.co/37286/is-bitcoin-halal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Rqw4krMOug https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXsEZeNE288 https://soundcloud.com/radioislam/is-bitcoin-halal-or-haram https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyZIoOZj46E ps: Govts about to start WWIII. If you adopted crypto like crypto libertarians told you, you could easily leave funding their wars, and them, off the list of things you choose to pay for. Your old "voting" obviously didn't get you any more freedom, maybe the new distributed privacy crypto hotness will.

Crypto: IBM Pushes Fully Homomorphic Crypto

Called Predictive Store Forwarding (PSF), this feature was added to AMD CPUs part of the company's Zen 3 core architecture, a processor series dedicated to gaming and high-performance computing, which launched in November 2020. The feature implements a technique called speculative execution, which works by running multiple alternative CPU operations in advance to make results available faster, and then discarding "predicted" data once deemed unneeded.
