Intel TSMC Build Three US Fabs
by grarpamp 30 Mar '21

None are #OpenFabs... https://news.slashdot.org/story/21/03/23/2127254/intel-to-spend-20-billion-… During today's "Intel Unleashed: Engineering the Future" webcast, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger gave an update on the company's future plans and developments, one of which includes a $20 billion investment to build two new chip fabs in Arizona. The new factories are expected to "become a major provider of foundry capacity in the U.S. and Europe" to serve the global demand for semiconductor manufacturing. "To deliver this vision, Intel is establishing a new standalone business unit, Intel Foundry Services (IFS), led by semiconductor industry veteran Dr. Randhir Thakur. IFS will be differentiated from other foundry offerings with a combination of leading-edge process technology and packaging, committed capacity in the U.S. and Europe, and a world-class IP portfolio for customers, including x86 cores as well as ARM and RISC-V ecosystem IPs." "Gelsinger said the foundry business will compete in a market potentially worth $100 billion by 2025," reports CNBC. "A slide displayed by Intel suggested that companies including Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Qualcomm could be customers for the business." The company is also partnering with IBM to improve chip logic and packaging technologies, which will "enhance the competitiveness of the U.S. semiconductor industry and support key U.S. government initiatives."

Jamesd knows so much about women from his Marxist-Communist days. Our bourgeois, not content with having wives and daughters of their proletarians at their disposal, not to speak of common prostitutes, take the greatest pleasure in seducing each other’s wives...' https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1848/communist-manifesto/ch02.h…

Freedom: Thread
by grarpamp 29 Mar '21

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5XXiPKP670 10 reasons freedom dangerous 10 Reasons Why Freedom Is Dangerous The number one thing that terrorizes us in this world and gets in the way of you having a better life... freedom! Here is JP Sears' top ten "science-based" reasons why freedom is bad: 1. Freedom requires you to think for yourself (...think the thoughts they hand you... so turn on your TV. It's like psychological breadline where you can get your very nourishing thought handouts from... and that should be the only place you get them from). 2. Freedom will make you uncomfortable at times. 3. With freedom, no one's controlling you... 4. Freedom requires self-responsibility. 5. Freedom comes with free speech (99.98% of all speech is hate speech... and hate speech is objectively defined as speech that you subjectively hate which is all speech that represents thoughts that don't come from the one true source that you get your thoughts from) 6. With freedom you constantly learn and grow. 7. With freedom you can't just print money when want more of it. 8. With freedom you can protest, but you can't peacefully protest. 9. With freedom you're allowed to not trust those who try to control you. 10. Freedom gives you equal opportunity, not equality of outcome (leaving people's outcomes to what they earn through work and effort levels promotes hate and incentivizes prosperity). So with all that said, what should we do? "Communism needs your vote...freedom destroys lives, robs people of their dignity and takes away their birthright of being controlled."

Tor Stinks: Massive RMS Cancel Culture Meltdown, More Censorship by Tor Project
by grarpamp 29 Mar '21

29 Mar '21

Meanwhile, as Tor Project Incorporated and its Holier Than Thou [anon] "moderators" more properly known as Censors continue to refuse to let [certain] people post some topical centric to their list charters, even when same topics were approved before in history... Tor Project has officially joined its official name and minions into efforts to cancel RMS again. Now what few uncensored on the TPO lists are still allowed to post... lists are melting down over Tor's and general cancel culture, and relays are being yanked off Tor's cancel net by the freedom loving faction of operators like an Asian masseuse yanks cock, while apologist operators are 10x'ing their commitment to cancel culture of opinion freespeech etc, with many virtue signalling and pleading for the anti-cancel-culture relays to come back and for nobody to leave... See all the fun threads here before they delete them... https://lists.torproject.org/pipermail/tor-relays/2021-March/thread.html Remains to be seen whether cancel-culturists will stand up to the coming GovCorp+Legal assault upon tor network and its operators now that Tor has been further washed of anti-cancel resiliency. https://rms-support-letter.github.io/ The support for RMS campaign currently has 19% more sigs than the cancel culture campaign does. Cancel culture loses, and... "Tor Stinks -- NSA"

[old] Cambridge Analytica / Team Trump
by Karl 28 Mar '21

This is three years old, but I didn't even know about it. Some of these guys were like my best friends in a funny, detached, psychologically gruesome way. I found this while looking into the "iHuman" documentary, which apparently summarises this stuff, being very hard to find in the USA. https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/mar/17/data-war-whistleblower-christo… somehow ended up creating “Steve Bannon’s psychological warfare mindfuck tool”. In 2014, Steve Bannon – then executive chairman of the “alt-right” news network Breitbart – was Wylie’s boss. And Robert Mercer, the secretive US hedge-fund billionaire and Republican donor, was Cambridge Analytica’s investor. And the idea they bought into was to bring big data and social media to an established military methodology – “information operations” – then turn it on the US electorate.

[AI] community p2p machine learning
by Karl 28 Mar '21

free p2p network: https://github.com/learning-at-home/hivemind on a blockchain for profit: https://github.com/opentensor/bittensor i daydream nowadays about getting the p2p people to serve their work on a blockchain like that for a shared community fund, the money from which is used to grow the p2p network larger. i am not pursuing that due to my personal issues. of course with machine learning it's important to store the history somewhere cryptographically secure, since hacking it is such a big thing. meanwhile https://singularitynet.io/ has been around for some time but i don't know if anybody is actually using it. reminds me of when their agi list was shut down in the 90s because of 'fear of terrorists building ai'.
