Nym Technologies is an open-source, decentralized infrastructure that aims to surpass the typical third-party privacy services offered on virtual private networks (VPNs) or Tor networks, by utilizing mix network protocols to obscure individuals' metadata footprints, and in turn, evade the burgeoning influence of mass surveillance on the web. https://cointelegraph.com/news/nym-technologies-raises-13m-to-develop-surve…

Re: Shutting down Bitcoin out of an abundance of caution
by professor rat 18 Nov '21

To P. Fairbrother I said ' however remote ' since I clearly don't think its at all likely. As for your assertion its not at all likely I would love to see any evidence for that., since ' assertions without evidence may be dismissed without examination '. The proposal to shut down Bitcoin should be made till JA Donald is ruled out completely; yes? Facts, Peter, facts! Then I said ' and political ' so you're eliding half the equation. Also - if Btc is allowed to carry on it it could soon dwarf the big oil ' Prize ' of last century. So your economic criticism assumes a static situation that doesn't exist in the real world. Eight years ago I paid 600 $ for 90% of one bitcoin. Who knows what one will be worth in 2029? You don't appear to have a clue what you're dealing with here. Prove me wrong - if you can.

"Hearty people only found freedom inside a testimony of structured monuments" - Chinese pidgin analysis of recent Kenosha events - [PEACE]

This comes across as quite philosophical, though it's hard to parse being heavy pidgin. In any case, nice to see an attempt at a philosophical analysis: Kenosha: A Pale Cleansing or Fiddle with It to Realize? http://dstormer6em3i4km.onion/kenosha-a-pale-cleansing-or-fiddle-with-it-to…

“A vaccinated person is less likely to get Covid in the first instance, is less contagious, and is contagious for a shorter time, resulting in significantly less spread of the virus through a highly vaccinated community,” they wrote. “This, combined with the well-known ability of vaccines to keep people out of hospital and ICU, makes them the most important part of the health response in the near future.” https://www.news.com.au/world/coronavirus/health/experts-clear-up-common-mi…

Cryptocurrency: ETH Just As Shady As BTC, XRP etc , Propaganda, Privacy
by professor rat 18 Nov '21

18 Nov '21

You don't have to assume anything about ETH to note that Vitalik Buterin recently praised Avalanche and the Ethereum networks beginning to copy AVAX features like proof-of-stake and fee-burns to name just two. The big two Btc and Eth - have lurched from Kludge to Kludge in their histories. Which is perfectly understandable as first-movers. But emotions shouldn't color the decisions any hard-nosed investor will make moving forward. The difference between the first internet boom and this one is this one is more meritocratic - the Doges bark and the caravan moves on. And here endeth the sermon.
