Bitcoin theft and the future of cryptocurrencies
by Georgi Guninski 15 Dec '17

15 Dec '17

If your bitcoin wallet is compromised, all your bitcoins are gone forever. With a credit card, you have some chance of only minor damage. If your computer is owned, your wallet is at risk. This appears major problem for the widespread adoption of bitcoin IMHO. Fixing it appears to contradict decentralization, which opens another can of "worms". Potential approach is to use "trusted wallet proxy", but this may not work in practice. Are these concerns taken seriously? Any technical attempts at mitigating cryptocurrency theft?

Any robots amongst the top billionaires? ;) http://mashable.com/2017/12/12/bitcoin-satoshi-trillionaire/ | But if Nakamoto is a single person, they're currently the 52nd richest | person in the world when measured against Forbes' list of billionaires. | And judging by the way Bitcoin's price has exploded, they might soon sit | on top of that list, potentially as the world's first trillionaire.

[RUS] [BREXIT] Facebook finds Russia spent 97 cents on ads to influence Brexit vote
by Zenaan Harkness 15 Dec '17

15 Dec '17

Totally straight face on this one - Facebooks official results as filed, into it's Russian Brexit-meddling advertisements investigation. This one is now an absolute fact - and the total advertising figure spent by "Russia" to influence Brexit may yet rise - from the $0.97 USD (73 British pence) that Facebook has determined come from Russian Internet influencer sources - since Google and Twitter have now been ordered to conduct a similar investigation. There's a very good chance that this 73p, will rise by a good 300 to 500 %, all the way to possibly 5 British pounds. At least a lot of human effort is being wisely spent to crack this Russian Spying and Election Meddling escapade - sooner or later, those dang Russkies are going to pay for all this meddling - you just wait for the Google and Twitter results ¡‼¡‼ ** Facebook finds Russia spent 97 cents on ads to influence Brexit vote http://russiafeed.com/facebook-finds-russia-spent-97-cents-ads-influence-br… ------------------------------------------------------------ Of course this could never be the true reason: ** Russia makes a convenient enemy to blame for the West’s failures http://russiafeed.com/russia-makes-convenient-enemy-blame-wests-failures/ ------------------------------------------------------------ ** Canadian govt approves selling machine guns to Ukraine, report blames Russia for war http://russiafeed.com/canadian-govt-approves-selling-machine-guns-ukraine-r… ------------------------------------------------------------ ** Russian physicists develop new theory on what happens inside black holes http://russiafeed.com/russian-physicists-develop-new-theory-on-what-happens… ------------------------------------------------------------

[Ministry] As good as it gets, clear as it gets, succinct overview of armageddon
by Zenaan Harkness 12 Dec '17

12 Dec '17

These articles are for some, comedy gold, but for others, particularly Liberly Lefty Snowflakes, this is the worst of heathen hereticism. Just remember, it's not a conspiracy if all the little voices in your head, are in agreement. This is not short, but is well put together, links and all, with a solid twist of dry on the rocks - required reading for all snowflakes of course... ** 2017: The Year of the Headless Liberal Chicken https://russia-insider.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fa2faf7034c3c3c413… ------------------------------------------------------------ by CJ Hopkins on Tue, Dec 12, 2017 According to the Chinese zodiac, 2017 has been the Year of the Rooster. Myself, I’ve decided to designate it the Year of the Headless Liberal Chicken. I don’t mean that to be insulting … or, all right, I guess I do, a little. But my heart goes out to liberals, seriously. At this point, the amount of utterly baseless, contradictory propaganda, mass hysteria, and just flat out insanity the ruling classes have demanded they swallow is more than any human mind, no matter how medicated, could possibly handle. Is it any wonder so many of them of lost it and started seeing Nazis and Russians coming out of the woodwork? Just consider what the average liberal has been forced to try to cognitively reconcile since the tragic events of last November … And another fine hit piece - hit piece because it's so well researched and contains so many facts such as this juicy nugget (one amongst many mind you) “A person from the Russian president’s office called and asked for [Luke Harding's] mobile number. Unable to imagine a single good reason why a Russian government official would need a cell phone number for the Guardian’s Russia bureau chief, he refused.” So for these and many other dastardly facts about those sinister Russians lurking in the shadows, ready to deliver the gulag on a moment's breath, read on for the true, fascinating, and truly fascinating facts surrounding the treatment of Luke Harding, The Guardian's Russia bureau chief: ** The Bizarre Paranoia of the Guardian's #1 Russia-Hater (Luke Harding) https://russia-insider.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fa2faf7034c3c3c413… ------------------------------------------------------------ by BLACKCATTE on Tue, Dec 12, 2017 The degenerate state of modern journalism has allowed for all sorts of freakish characters to bubble to the surface, people who are both cunning and intensely stupid at the same time, who busy about believing they are crusaders for truth, when in fact they are peddling death. Harding is definitely in the winners circle in this horse race of boobs. Evelyn Waugh could not have invented a more preposterous character. For history buffs who enjoy possible insights: ** Lenin Won Because He Was Bold and Daring in a Sea of Degeneracy https://russia-insider.us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fa2faf7034c3c3c413… ------------------------------------------------------------ by Eric King on Tue, Dec 12, 2017 Last month was the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution. Partially because of that fact, I have been reading a great deal about the Russian Revolution and the rise of the Bolshevik party. What I have learned has surprised me. I am someone who studies revolutions. I thought that I understood the Russian Revolution but I had, in fact, missed two central elements of the revolutionary period: uncertainty and fear. To begin with, during the early stages of the Russian Revolution it was uncertain as to who actually held power. The Bolsheviks seized control of many of the governmental buildings in Petrograd, including the Winter Palace, the former home of the Romanov Dynasty, but it wasn’t clear that this gave them the right or ability to rule Russia.

[Ministry] - the saving grace of chutzpah: Joel Stein “it just shows how dumb America has gotten. Jews totally run Hollywood”
by Zenaan Harkness 12 Dec '17

12 Dec '17

Trigger Warning: In these years of The Ministry, some facts are more equal/ tolerable than others, and others simply are not allowed to be discussed publicly — at least, not without triggering a snoflake or two million (HAH!) - so be warned, the following will trigger you if you're a Liberal Lefty Snowflake. --- Joel Stein has Jewish cred (at least one hint would be in his name), and slam dunks a few facts about Jewish control of Hollywood, for those who missed the memo. Ministry speak, the hiding of facts, and the lack of awareness of our fellow humans are one of the greatest problems we face in any pursuit of change for the future - if we don't know what we're even up against, how can we possibly create a change for the better? Joel Stein (as with many other chosen bastards) is certainly not backwards in being forwards about how damn chosen he is, along with all his fellow "tribal lord" chosen bastards - and frankly, this is a really good thing - in fact there's more honesty with the typical Jew in power, than there is the typical goy, at least AFAICT… Thank God for Jewish chutzpah! November 13, 2017 https://davidduke.com/thank-god-for-jewish-chutzpah/ Quoting Stein in the LA times (http://articles.latimes.com/2008/dec/19/opinion/oe-stein19) “I have never been so upset by a poll in my life. Only 22% of Americans now believe “the movie and television industries are pretty much run by Jews,” down from nearly 50% in 1964. The Anti-Defamation League … sees in these numbers a victory against stereotyping. Actually, it just shows how dumb America has gotten. Jews totally run Hollywood.” Stein goes on to identify the name and the tribe of just about all the leading moguls of Hollywood. … He speaks of a meeting with Abe Foxman, then head of the ADL, who tells Stein it is dangerous to say that “Jews Control Hollywood.” “That’s a very dangerous phrase, ‘Jews control Hollywood.’ What is true is that there are a lot of Jews in Hollywood,” he [ADL head Foxman] said. Instead of “control,” Foxman would prefer people say that many executives in the industry “happen to be Jewish,” as in “all eight major film studios are run by men who happen to be Jewish.” Stein then writes, “I appreciate Foxman’s concerns. And maybe my life spent in a New Jersey-New York/Bay Area-L.A. pro-Semitic cocoon has left me naive. But I don’t care if Americans think we’re running the news media, Hollywood, Wall Street or the government. I just care that we get to keep running them.” and on it goes ... Fundamentally, as Duke highlights the classic Ministry problem, “Jewish power is so ubiquitous and is the one power that cannot be acknowledged”. There are some people who are highly competent at acting as a tribe with a very real homogeneous group-think, which few if any others even conceive of, let alone live. There is power in tribal awareness, in group dynamics, and the goy are trained to revel in their compassion and equality of everyone, and naturally project these assumptions and natures onto everyone else - lack of wisdom is no estoppel to self defeating actions, that's for bloody sure… We fail to wake up to our own peril. Good luck all, Z

Bitcoin... Destroying the planet
by Michael Nelson 12 Dec '17

12 Dec '17

The mapping between Bitcoin and energy is missing the point, from the point of view of understanding the system. The correct mapping is between Bitcoin and the *price* of energy. If electricity were 10 times as expensive, Bitcoin mining use of electric power would drop by a factor of 10 (for a given BTC price). The point of spending money on mining is to be competitive. The absolute amount of power is irrelevant. This means that if governments raised the price of electricity, or resources used for generating it, then BTC would never be a problem. Not trivial to do, admittedly, but the point here is to understand the system. With things like automobiles and air-conditioners, raising electricity prices would improve the situation (regarding what economists call "externalities"), but degrade the user experience. Well, raising prices would improve the external impact of Bitcoin, but would have no effect on the correct functioning of the Bitcoin model. Whereas an automobile still uses the same amount of fuel to get you from A to B, when you raise the price of fuel, Bitcoin instantly drops the amount of fuel it uses, but continues to function just as well. Interestingly, environmentalists do not so much blame the automobile and the drivers as much as governments for allowing the tolerance of them, and rightly so. They say that we need fuel prices and taxes that reflect the impact on the environment, and we need support for alternative energy sources, etc. So why blame poor old Bitcoin? Mike
