"Irradiate is a program for messing up your files. It does so in a manner reminiscent of how high-energy charged particle damage to the data storage medium might manifest - flipped bits inserted in a random fashion." From the readme.md: "Can this program actually damage my computer, or hurt me, the way real ionizing radiation could? This program does not produce ionizing radiation. It may seem like it goes without saying, but we will clarify it anyway. irradiate cannot directly cause harm to your body. As for your computer, well… We do not recommend you run this as root, especially against targets like: Your kernel Your initramfs Your computer’s EFI firmware Important block devices, such as your system’s boot medium /dev/mem Treat this program like you would rm or shred. The files it acts on should be considered lost, and any resemblance they bear to the originals considered as a happy accident. All this being said: if you ever do run Irradiate on some important system of device file and something funny or cool happens… let us know, yeah?" Seems truth re censorious bias proven time and again, counter to charter permitting replies to conversation initially started by one side and approved by mods, not to mention archive full of examples, was too much truth to bear. The unsub button an easier out than issuing and debating any warnings in public on list, or off. And where of course the list never saw the censored posts, or knew of any possible censor bias charter issue to discuss and provide their own collective input on from time to time. Not like this has any effect on anything either... people can just sign again up from anywhere to read and be censored, surf the archives, etc. Wouldn't be a surprise if some soul ventured to direct mail an advisory on the issues to the posters. Perry the self described "rabid libertarian" moderator. And John throwing insults off list where none were lodged at him... "you're too dim" Anyway, c(a)m.c moderator can now devote more time to approving the twice yearly pointless hundred post circlejerk rehash threads on RNG's and whatever else. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: cryptography-bounces(a)metzdowd.com Date: Sat, 13 Jul 2019 19:00:01 -0400 Subject: You have been unsubscribed from the cryptography mailing list To: grarpamp(a)gmail.com

Cryptocurrency: Privacy Tech Becoming Realized as Essential for Success
by grarpamp 14 Jul '19

https://twitter.com/officialmcafee/status/1149808391151394816 So many of the bigger voices over the years been shifty or silent over privacy baked into coin protocols, trying to appease regulators, etc. Finally many of the voices are now realizing cryptocurrency cannot fulfill its promise and win without privacy. Privacy, Driving adoption, Scaling, Distributed, Uncensorable, etc... all part of the circle of required elements for success. The King and Corp are already in a mad rush to roll out their own Fiat shitcoin and stamp out cash forever. Coins that are missing even one element are nothing but another Fiat, part of and subject to the King's whim. The only area you have expertise with to compete, the few things you have to differentiate your product, to attract and sell users over the above shitcoin... are truly private cryptocurrency as foretold by cypherpunk cryptoanarchism. And with the appropriate education covering true cryptocurrency philosophy... which many of the same voices got distracted by money... people will choose private cryptocurrency over shitty surveillance and censor coin every single time. It's time to get all the voices back on track in unison. ps: If 500,000 people actually appeared in a flashmob outside Area51 and *actually proceeded to storm it in unison*, the people would win... because the alternative, of murdering them all, over nothing but some stupid secrets and secrecy regimes... the second that hits the news, the guns are coming out and government dies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGZekIJ_Ptc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6b70TUbdfs Wake up people, freedom is yours, adopt it in unison, right now, today!
