There is another automated system that can control crowds of people.

> Hi, Karl. Nice to meet you. I think you already know my name is Cecilia > Tanaka and I hope this message can help you a little bit. It's calming to meet you, Ceci. > When someone very cruel mentions my death, my temperamental health, or my > physical fragility, saying I will die soon, I simply (try to) ignore. It > happened last week again, when I was trying to help a person who wrote to > the hackerspace begging for attention. It was unexpected and painful, but > I do not care about dying. I only care about my loved ones. So I live > pretty far from my family to keep them safe. I do not expect either of us to die or suffer. I've been in touch with my family, which has been both very tense but also mutually supportive; maybe I should try harder to stay away. My parents seem to like the idea of kind of preparing for an eventual death in a way that supports their children. > When I am in a chaotical moment, when my body just wants to die, I use > several alarms to keep me alive. Alarms for meals, for drinking water, for > taking medicines, for taking showers, for sleeping, and also for waking > up. You are the master of your body, so please keep it working in a > satisfactory way. I used to use alarms. They don't work for me anymore. But I have found that when I rely on my fears to push me ["eventually I must get so hungry and starved that I eat"], my body eventually steps up and gets me food or something. Generally faster than I've fasted for sport in the past (which is multiple days). > Remember: - You need hydration, food, and sleep to keep alive and sane. > Please, try to keep your sanity. You will need it to destroy companies and > governments in the future. <3 Please nurture your wellness, too. > I love World of Warcraft, thank you a lot for your anonymous efforts. You > love games. I think I have no many good things in this moment. I have great memories of playing a night elf druid in that game. I like to discuss world peace, how to heal people who are in pain, how to thrive through situations that seem like emergencies, and how computer technology and/or human communities can both be used to do absolutely anything, too. > Hmm, I think I still have some cyberpunk games, like Orwell, but now it > would not be healthy for you. It made me feel afraid of the future the > same way like "COVID-1984". A pandemia was the perfect excuse to all the > governments spy our activities and I do hate this horribly crazy dystopia. I was involved in the national spread of mutual aid networks near the USA during the start of covid-19. It was pleasant to have a little support from the government to network anarchists together. Many of them were doing silly things like growing mushrooms when they used to be stimulating mass community action. Games are harder for me now because all my technology breaks and I hold it together with piles of improvised repairs and workarounds. But I'll look up Orwell; it's so nice to see things that pretend we can talk freely about danger and its solutions. > Do you like books, comics, movies, series, jokes, music, something I can > (try to) get for you? Sorry, I don't know anything about you, but I want > to help you to calm yourself. Already had very stressful moments and > surviving to them alone is always hard. Right now TV shows and community coding projects for the linux console in C/C++/nodejs/python, are what are easiest in my situation. Movies, games, and cell phone apps too. When I'm not experiencing something intense I work on a hobby AI, right now. Such things are for sharing with people who demonstrate wise compassion in a way that can grow. > Search for comfortable things. Comfy food, those easy foods to take like > soups, yoghurt, sandwiches, etc; comfy drinks like no-caffeine tea, hot > chocolate, pure water, fresh juices; and try to relax your mind reading, > listening music, doing something that you really appreciate. Writing, > drawing, painting, coding, having sex and/or masturbation... Thank you. Please keep the same up. Try also new environments; pleasant new things can stimulate the nurturing of the mind. I like hugs. > Don't forget to sleep, please. It's very important. When I don't sleep, > after three days, my writing and my memory become so confused, living is so > strange... The sensation is scarier than you can imagine. I can't know your experience. I've gotten used to the fun visions where sharp objects dismember me and I can't make my own decisions enough to act on it or even have consistent memories during it; I like to imagine it is like anarchic organizing rather than government control, of my thoughts and body. > Feel free to contact me in private and keep breathing, Karl. Just remember > I am not online in all moments. What do you dream of, Ceci? Everything is possible. I'll try to contact you unless you change your mind. Gmail is a little hard for me right now, I am better with text messages and face book and the linux terminal, and I haven't set up imap yet, because I get so excited about archiving my mail on a blockchain that I get confused. Cryptocurrency: Oldest Profession Adopted Crypto Ages Ago
by grarpamp 04 May '20

http://www.lasvegasnow.com/news/i-team-las-vegas-strip-club-accepts-cryptoc… Posted: Feb 5, 2018 A Las Vegas strip club accepts cryptocurrency. Patrons can pay and tip using forms of payment like Bitcoin. Nick Blomgren is a martial arts master and also a businessman who had cryptocurrency on his radar. Cryptocurrency is a digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank. “We came up with an idea probably about a year and a half ago of how we could turn this bitcoin into something,” said Blomgren. “So we were brainstorming. First, we were thinking about a fight company because I own a mixed martial arts gym.” But after throwing out idea after idea, Blomgren said there was one that really stood out. “I was like well that would work better in a strip club,” Blomgren said. Blomgren’s decision is how the Legends Room was born last year. “It’s the best place to spend it if you don’t want your wife to know or you don’t want your boyfriend to know,” Blomgren said. Here’s how it works: Customers who already own cryptocurrency can spend it by providing a lengthy number from a digital wallet. If they don’t own cryptocurrency, they can still spend their money without cryptocurrency or use an ATM to buy it. Some of the exotic dancers then wear temporary tattoos that can be scanned so they can be paid. “And that’s how we do private rooms,” said Brenna Sparks, an adult performer. Vanessa Murphy, I-Team Reporter: “How often do customers want to pay with Bitcoin?” Brenna Sparks, adult entertainer: “Oh, quite often. Like the people that come here, they are like really into crypto. I feel like it’s very smart. They are really into that.” The dancer whose stage name is Brenna Sparks, says she became interested in cryptocurrency when she was just 19 years old. She’s now 26 years old. “It’s peer to peer. It’s anonymous, and it’s instant,” Sparks said. Sparks says she and her friends think cryptocurrency may be the future for adult entertainment workers. “I’m not going to name names, but there are certain banks that… will shut down your account and actually deny you from having an account because we work in the adult entertainment industry, said Summer Chase, adult entertainment worker. The club’s DJ, known as Saint Clare, says part of her deal at the Legends Room is that part of her paycheck is cryptocurrency. “When I first heard about the concept, I thought wow this is really something different, you know,” DJ Saint Clare said. Vanessa Murphy, I-Team Reporter: “Do you check your account a lot?” Brenna Sparks, adult entertainer: “I do (laughs). It’s fun though. Once you invest, it becomes an everyday thing.” “They’re seeing these guys come in and spend a lot of Bitcoin, so they’re like wow how do I get into Bitcoin or what coin can I buy,” Blomgren said. The Legends Room also has its own cryptocurrency called LGD. “Your asking prices are all there. Your bids are there,” said Blomgren. Vanessa Murphy, I-Team Reporter: “Is it a big draw?” Nick Blomgren: “It is starting to become a bigger draw. You know in the beginning it was like a lot of bitcoin guys came in, a lot of LGD members came in and wanted to use their LGD to see if they can buy anything here at the club because nobody really thought that the club existed in the beginning. So now it’s, it’s become like curiosity. Let’s go down there and see if we can use our cryptocurrency.” Sure, some clientele is still making it rain regular currency at the club, but for others, a night at the strip club is also about the technology. “You get something for this. You get to come here and enjoy strong drinks and meet beautiful women,” Blomgren said. The value of cryptocurrency like Bitcoin has taken a plunge, and it faces scrutiny. Facebook just announced it would no longer accept ads for cryptocurrencies, banks are banning the purchase of cryptocurrencies with credit cards, and there’s been a crackdown by governments internationally and here in the united states. There are concerns about cryptocurrency getting in the wrong hands for fraudulent activity, but talk to fans of cryptocurrency, and some will tell you they believe it’s an investment worth making.

One of the two most intelligent treatments of my Assassination Politics essay that I've ever seen
by jim bell 03 May '20

03 May '20

My original Assassination Politics essay: https://cryptome.org/ap.htm Comment by Robert Vroman https://news.bitcoin.com/the-jim-bell-system-revisited/ From 2002, republished 2019 in Bitcoin.com (Here's the other: http://www.idsa.in/system/files/strategicanalysis_sukumaran_0604.pdf written by R. Sukumaran.) "Let me re-emphasize that I have neither the knowledge nor the will to implement this system. I certainly don’t like the State, but I would rather concentrate my energies on constructive rather than destructive solutions. That said, I still think governments everywhere are going to be staring down the barrel of an encrypted gun in the near future, and this article attempts to explain why, in response to numerous objections received since my last article." "**The following article is an opinion piece written in 2002 by the libertarian author Robert Vroman. Vroman is well known for his editorial work writing for anti-state.com. ‘The Jim Bell System Revisited’ first published on anti-state.com on August 15, 2002, in response to “The Jim Bell System” debate. This is the second installment of the series written by Vroman. Check out Bob Murphy’s and Adam Young’s response to Vroman’s editorial. Bitcoin.com is not responsible for or liable for any opinions, content, accuracy or quality within the Op-ed article.**"[end partial quote]Jim Bell's Comment below:These are the kinds of analyses that the Cypherpunks email list never accomplished, although as I discovered last year, the 1995 Cypherpunks archive has been tampered with to avoid nearly every appearance of a discussion about my AP essay. That failure to deal with the AP idea was entirely irresponsible: The ostensible goal of Cypherpunks was always the anti-tyrannical analysis of and resistance to the usage of technology against the public, and conversely the active use of technology to free the public.I should state, now, that I don't believe that whoever deleted those 1995 Cypherpunks comments did it for benevolent and justifiable reasons. It has been suggested that these messages were deleted as some sort of protective reaction to legal events involving me during 1997 through 2000. One reason I reject that idea is that nobody could realistically believe that the government didn't already have full copies of the CP archive: To obtain that, all they would have needed to do was to subscribe to the CP list during the year of 1995, and all such emails would have been quickly copied to them. Those emails would never have been erased, once in government hands. Why would they, some agents of the Federal government, not have done obtained and kept those CP emails? And everybody on CP knew, or at least reasonably suspected, that the entire archive had been copied and thus couldn't be erased so the government would always have access to it. Nobody would have tampered with the CP archive if their goal had been to keep its contents away from the Federal government. They WOULD have had a motive to tamper with the CP archive if they wanted to conceal its discussions from Cypherpunks, as a whole.Erasing those emails in the CP archive, if they contained evidence of a crime, would have been an obvious violation of 18 U.S.C. 4, "Misprision of Felony". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misprision_of_felony Who would have risked that? So, if anybody was considering lying about the existence of those messages as a consequence of being asked in any sort of legal proceeding, that person would have been risking perjury charges even if the Cypherpunks archive had been 'successfuly' manipulated. That is, if they considered themselves on the side opposite to the government. If, instead, they considered themselves on the side of government, THEN they might have decided they had nothing to fear by deleting that material. So, what were the loyalties of the people who were maintaining the CP archive during 1995 and later? Now, far more than at any other time, the AP idea needs to be considered. Nobody can say that the world doesn't need a solution. Go ahead and try to disprove it, if you can, but as these two articles show above, by Robert Vroman and R. Sukumaran, that will not be easy. Gratitude - We are now living (at least some of) our sabbaths/ weekends, past taken by Sunday trading
by Zig the N.g 03 May '20

03 May '20

Something to be grateful for - days off, a load off our shoulders, somewhat of a stasis in our respective countries, a calm and a time to contemplate. Many years ago, weekends used to be a thing, in Australia from Saturday afternoon and through all of Sunday. Then the large retail chains lobbied and stayed open all Saturday, then later, repeated this process for Sunday with some stores in busy metro city areas opening 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Sabbaths were thus taken from us. We were complicit to some degree, most tacitly consenting to the oligarch's new regime, as we dutifully stepped up our hampster wheel trundling to a full 6, then eventually 7 days a week - working, schooling, shopping, working. Most of the broader Commonwealth of nations essentially deregulated shopping hours from the early to the mid 1990s, often making this appear "ok" by having "govt. applications" and "licenses" to trade on the previously unsanctioned day(s), "most of South America by the 1980s" and throughout the '80s and '90s in most of the rest of the world. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunday_shopping Let's take 1990 as a benchmark and ignore the loss of Saturday afternoons, but include every Sunday of the year: 20 years is 52 weeks worth of Sundays = 1040 days 1040 days is roughly 3 years. Now I'm not suggesting we aim to lock ourselves down for 3 years straight :) But we can use this grant of "slow time" according to our own wisdom: - We may do some of the indoor things we promised our children, spouse, self. We may contemplate on the wonder of life, the universe, our existence, meta awareness ("I am aware that I am aware", "I am aware that I feel ...", "I am aware that I may think a series of thoughts"). - We may contemplate the future and the type of world we might co-create with our fellow Souls - would we reclaim our "slow" days, be it a full weekend, an official sabbath, or something similar? (And note that mathematically, and also if you consider steadily roaming around the Earth from East to West only, and also depending on which calendar system you choose to use, whether your Sabbath is Saturday or Sunday is on each of these grounds alone, truly a moot point). - Ought we have a global debt jubilee? - How might we balance our duty of care to one another on various vectors (health/viruses, travel, speech, etc)? - In what ways can we begin to hold our governments to account? May your catch up sabbaths be fruitful for you and yours...

Chirin no Suzu - better than Bambi - [PEACE]
by Zig the N.g 03 May '20

03 May '20

Pre- "subtlety" anime, Chirin no Suzu http://dstormer6em3i4km.onion/chirin-no-suzu/ .. And because this film precedes the introduction of subtlety to Japan, Chirin tells the wolf that he’ll kill him as soon as he’s strong enough, which the wolf doesn’t seem to mind. .. Unlike the Disney movies, and to a lesser extent the Ghibli ones, where nature is a goofy utopia where everything is wonderful until humans come along and mess up everything, this depicts a much more appropriate and realistic way of viewing the world, and I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to vaccinate his kids against veganism, anti-speciesism or some of the other inane liberal ideologies. ~259MiB bccaf281e8d5b1ad5e59581e2f0d540ccf650023

US Congress: EARN IT Act Set to Fuck Over Crypto and Privacy Against Everyone
by grarpamp 02 May '20

02 May '20

https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/3398/text "But if we look at how companies would apply the "best practices," it becomes clear that the government is intending to make these features difficult to provide, that the government is looking to discourage companies from offering -- and increasing the use of -- these features. By accepting EARN IT, we will give up our ability -- and our children's future abilities -- to enjoy online, social, connected and private lives. Four of the "best practices" relate to requiring companies to have the ability to "identify" child sexual abuse material. Unfortunately, it's not possible to identify this material without also having the ability to identify any and all other types of material -- like a journalist communicating with a source, an activist sharing a controversial opinion or a doctor trying to raise the alarm about the coronavirus. Nothing prevents the government from later expanding the bill to cover other illegal acts, such as violence or drugs. And what happens when foreign governments want to have a say in what is "legal" and what is not?"

Crypto: Two Face Anti-Crypto FBI Dir Christopher Wray was ex WhatsApp Crypto Advocate Lawyer
by grarpamp 02 May '20

02 May '20

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/apr/30/fbi-head-christopher-wray-o… https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/feb/12/encryption-safe-hilla… Documents reveal FBI head defended encryption for WhatsApp before becoming fierce critic Christopher Wray defended encryption in 2015 as a lawyer, contradicting his current opposition to the practice The documents, which were released late on Wednesday night as part of an unrelated matter, show Wray worked for WhatsApp in 2015 while he was an attorney for the Washington law firm of King & Spalding. While there are sparse details about the precise nature of the work, the filings indicate that Wray strongly defended the need for end-to-end encryption in his previous representation of WhatsApp, the popular messaging application owned by Facebook. Wray's earlier work -- which has not previously been public -- contradicts his current position on encryption, which protects users' communications and other data from being read by outsiders. The Trump administration and major technology companies like Facebook have been at odds over the need to offer customers encryption services, with the White House and law enforcement officials arguing the technology represents a security risk by protecting the communication of terrorists and criminals.
