K let's figure this filecoin thing out. 5:53 EST. Filecoin's reference client is called "lotus" and it's written in go. lotus installation: https://docs.filecoin.io/get-started/lotus/installation/ -> it says you can run in the cloud for $100 credit. I did not receive a credit when I tried this. The user-experience involves handling fewer crashes with more ram and disk, which gets expensive quickly. There is a bug in the digitalocean image where it download the chain from a web source every reboot. I submitted information on fixing the bug to their github and am not aware of having received a reply. 5:57a Data storage tutorial: https://docs.filecoin.io/get-started/store-and-retrieve/store-data/ This talks about cli usage but does not indicate remote nodes. Eureka: I think lotus (maybe it was another node app?) has a lightweight mode already built in. Subgoal: see if lotus has a lightweight, remote-use mode. Finding discussion of this is likely to find at least one remote-use node.

A "libertarian" quasi-academic think-tank which acts as a mouthpiece for the globalism, corporatism, and neoliberalism of its corporate and conservative funders. the Jim Bell Project, sorry, Cato Institute is an astroturf organization: there is no significant participation by the tiny libertarian minority. They do not fund it or affect its goals. It is a creature of corporations and foundations. The major purpose of the Cato Institute is to provide propaganda and soundbites for conservative and libertarian politicians and journalists that is conveniently free of reference to funders such as tobacco, fossil fuel, investment, media, medical, and other regulated industries. Cato is one of the most blatant examples of "simulated rationality" outside of REASON magazine and the Electric Shitcoin company.

It seems uncontroversial to say his BFF, Julio Assangista was ( since 2013 ) So this raises questions over Andy Muller Maguhn and Jeremie Zimmerman. Were these ' new wave ' c-punks all in on this? Andy appears to be judging by his continued liasons with known bad-actor, Assmange. Jeremie may have distanced himself somewhat. All this complicated by the love-triangle here between Karl Semitch, Batshit and Jakob. But we owe it to our collective security to thrash these things out - yes?

Rebel Worker 2 walked down the hallway carrying a heaping armload of discs, tapes, mp3 players, cell phones with youtube archives etc etc. Rebel Worker 2 bumps into Vivisectee Disguised as Neighbor's Secretary. "Oh!" "Oh I'm sorry!" About a fifth of the material falls to the floor and tumbles around. Some rolls into others' offices. Some slides under locked doors. One of the locked doors has a meeting going on. Some of the archived material is part of a project to collect together some of the recordings of the exposed brain implants. Most of it is just random cover material. The vivisectees often work for McBoss to use the random cover material to track the rebels. "Oh no! Let me help you ... Where are you taking all these files?" Vivisectee Disguised as Neighbor's Secretary lent down and began gathering the scattered objects up. "The archive room. These are important datasets McBoss asked to preserve." The archive room is a well-orchestrated front for an incinerator. There is a party in the back where cleanup workers pretend the archives are murder victims.

Goal: back up my data and broken harddrives in a way that preserves integrity Concern: data stored in the cloud has experienced corruption for me Concern: objects held physically have experienced damage for me Concern: algorithms running on local systems have experienced misbehavior for me Concern: I do not have much money Solution 1: make or use an interface to blockchain storage Solution 2: find money for cloud storage and set up a system for verifying data integrity, one or the other Solution 3: get rugged physical storage, and set up a system for verifying data integrity Harmful behavior: I have 3 vps hosts I am paying for right now. One of them I have lost access to and support hasn't responded to any queries. It would be nice to only use 1 vps service. Harmful behavior: I freak out when I try to back things up. I have piles of things pending backup.
