Strong Showing for First Experimental RISC-V Supercomputer
by jim bell 11 Jun '22

https://www.nextplatform.com/2022/06/09/strong-showing-for-first-experiment… A European team of university students has cobbled together the first RISC-V supercomputer capable of showing balanced power consumption and performance. More importantly, it demonstrates a potential path forward for RISC-V in high performance computing and by proxy, another shot for Europe to shed total reliance on American chip technologies beyond Arm-driven architectures. The “Monte Cimone” cluster will not be crunching massive weather simulations or the like anytime soon since it’s just an experimental machine. That said, it does show that performance sacrifices for lower power envelopes aren’t necessarily as dramatic as many believe. The six-node cluster, built by folks at Università di Bologna and CINECA, the largest supercomputing center in Italy, was part of a broader student cluster competition to showcase various elements of HPC performance beyond just floating-point capability. The cluster-building team, called NotOnlyFLOPs, wanted to establish the power-performance profile of RISC-V when using SiFive’s Freedom U740 system-on-chip. That 2020-era SoC has five 64-bit RISC-V CPU cores – four U7 application cores and an S7 system management core – 2MB of L2 cache, gigabit Ethernet, and various peripheral and hardware controllers. It can run up to around 1.4GHz. Here’s a look at the components as well as feeds and speeds of Monte Cimone: - Six dual-board servers with a form factor of 4.44 cm (1U) high, 42.5 cm width, 40 cm deep. Each board follows the industry standard Mini-ITX form factor (170 mm per 170 mm); - Each board features one SiFive Freedom U740 SoC and 16GB of 64-bit DDR memory operating at 1866s MT/s, plus a PCIe Gen 3 x8 bus operating at 7.8 GB/s, one gigabit Ethernet port, and USB 3.2 Gen 1 interfaces; - Each node has an M.2 M-key expansion slot occupied by a 1TB NVME 2280 SSD used by the operating system. A microSD card is inserted in each board and used for UEFI booting; - Two 250 W power supplies are integrated inside each node to support the hardware and future PCIe accelerators and expansion board

the jewnazi neocons are the mafia that pay the wages of the jew-NATO-nazis grancrap and his comrade coworker pro2rat(a)yahoo.com.au Trotsky, Strauss, and the Neocons, by Justin Raimondo https://www.antiwar.com/justin/j061303.html raimondo is corrupt enough to complain about being smeared as an 'anti semite', when in reality being anti jew is a moral imperative. But apart from that, raimondo explains well how the far-left commie jews became the far-right US fascist jews who control the US military. Neocons are trash Neocons are jews jews are trash it's not hard.

Antisemitic garbage in

Antisemitic garbage out Karl Marx expressed hate-filled antisemitic bigotry every decade of his rotten, petty-bourgeois-flunkies life - from the 1830's to 1883. The man was a proto-Nazi. Karl Marx, Capital, Volume One, Part II: The Transformation of Money and Capital CHAPTER FOUR: THE GENERAL FORMULA FOR CAPITAL: "The capitalist knows that all commodities, however scurvy they may look, or however badly they may smell, are in faith and in truth money, inwardly circumcised Jews . . . " KARL Marx the stinking ' journalist ' https://www.reddit.com/r/CapitalismVSocialism/comments/7dwc4n/the_russian_l… Every self-described Marxist is thus a 'scientific racist ' and a hate-filled bigot of the worst kind. But you knew that.

Jews were not the only ethnic group facing racism before and after the revolution. In his monograph on Engels and the ‘non-historic’ peoples, Roman Rosdolsky – chief theoretician of the Communist Party of Western Ukraine and survivor of Auschwitz concentration camp, where he was incarcerated for aiding Jews5 – develops a critique of the way this category was used by Engels during the revolutions of 1848–49 to designate certain East European peoples as counter-revolutionary by nature and doomed to extinction. In it, Rosdolsky cites a similar example from the Russian revolution, when in the cities of Ukraine in 1918–1919, it was not a rare occurrence for Red Guards to shoot inhabitants who spoke Ukrainian in public or admitted to being Ukrainian, because the Russian or Russified rank-and-file party members considered Ukrainian a ‘counter-revolutionary’ language . . . " . . . Blanc designates as ‘borderland socialists’ from the empire’s periphery: notably Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, the Caucasus and Ukraine, as well as the firmly anti-Zionist Jewish Bund, all of whom sought to tie national liberation and the struggle against ethnic supremacism to a class struggle orientation. For example, in an environment where many socialists took an ambivalent attitude to antisemitism, the Bund called for a joint struggle of Jewish and Christian workers against antisemitic pogroms and opposed Zionist efforts to use the pogroms as a pretext to divide them. In 1900, Lenin denounced Plekhanov’s racist comments about Jews, yet, after a pogrom in 1902, Lenin himself denounced the Bund’s claim that antisemitism had penetrated the working class, despite the fact that the Social Democrats in Odessa had banned Jews from membership in order to avoid alienating antisemitic Russian workers. Only in 1903 did the Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party (RSDWP) pass a resolution calling for a resolute struggle against antisemitic pogroms . . . House members labeled the deadly attempt to block the transfer of power an “attempted coup <https://link.mail.bloombergbusiness.com/click/28020796.858049/aHR0cHM6Ly93d…>” and said it was the bloody culmination of a seven-part plan that began before the 2020 election—a plan ultimately moved forward by one person. The bipartisan committee alleged criminal acts by Donald Trump and his aides <https://link.mail.bloombergbusiness.com/click/28020796.858049/aHR0cHM6Ly93d…>, punctuating arguments with gruesome video of his followers doing violence to Capitol police, along with similarly powerful witness testimony. Its unprecedented nationwide probe continues to slowly accumulate <https://link.mail.bloombergbusiness.com/click/28020796.858049/aHR0cHM6Ly93d…> arrests, guilty pleas, cooperators and convictions. As Congress completes its report, all eyes will turn to Attorney General Merrick Garland <https://link.mail.bloombergbusiness.com/click/28020796.858049/aHR0cHM6Ly93d…>, and the course of his inquiry into an alleged seditious conspiracy. *—David E.
