Lawyer Monthly Explores Mediation Funding Vehicles
by Gunnar Larson 02 May '22

Check out my new article: https://litigationfinancejournal.com/lawyer-monthly-explores-mediation-fund… Lawyer Monthly Explores Mediation Funding Vehicles Lawyer Monthly recently analyzed the pros and cons associated with litigation funding vs. mediation funding in terms of effectiveness and efficiency. Noting the growing marketplace popularity of litigation finance, Frances Sim (general counsel, Restitution Ltd.) argues that third party funding holds physiological value in financing mediation. When evaluating if a dispute can be settled via alternative means, Mr. Sim claims that third party funders can help facilitate access to justice through funding mediation costs. Lawyer Monthly <https://www.lawyer-monthly.com/2022/04/is-there-another-option-to-fund-medi…> explains that courts in the United Kingdom have encouraged mediation as a worthwhile approach to dispute resolution. Furthermore, successful or unsuccessful mediation can be a primer to court decisions. According to Mr. Sim, third party funders and their clients stand to potentially benefit with imaginative organization of mediation investment agreements. While mediation does not fit every dispute resolution scenario, third party investment in mediation is a handy tool for those seeking access to justice. -- *Gunnar Larson - xNY.io <http://www.xNY.io> | Bank.org <http://Bank.org>* MSc <https://www.unic.ac.cy/blockchain/msc-digital-currency/?utm_source=Google&u…> - Digital Currency MBA <https://www.unic.ac.cy/business-administration-entrepreneurship-and-innovat…> - Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ip) G(a)xNY.io +1-646-454-9107 New York, New York 10001

Re: Cypherpunks Mailing List Info
by John Young 02 May '22

There have been quite a few branches of cpunks by those who want a particular version rather than the whole thing. A few have lasted, like the cryptography list, but most peter out after a while. Subscribers come and go, some come back, some stay for the same old shit, adding to the pile, and watch newbies trash and bash the list, try to make it into something they want and usually fail due to nobody wanting to do whatever the meddler wants to do. Commonplace are subscribers who keep their identity private, use pseudos, vary their monikers, provoke and condemn, try to get the host to fix whatever rubs them wrongly. Go away frustrated to try their pukefest elsewhere. Some subscribers die, sign up to be an undercover TLA informer, accuse others of being rat finks, dispense rumors and disinfo and misinfo and hatred and prejudice and condescension and stupidity. Same bullshit happens on all social media, nowhere to find the perfect place to be the king of fuck-ups so only bots can do the cult of magic, for a fee of course. -----Original Message----- From: Greg Newby Sent: May 2, 2022 6:08 PM To: cypherpunks Subject: Re: Cypherpunks Mailing List Info I missed the earlier note yesterday: On Mon, May 02, 2022 at 03:45:49PM -0400, Karl Semich wrote: > On Sun, May 1, 2022, 9:49 PM punk wrote: > > > > > > > https://lists.cpunks.org/mailman/listinfo/cypherpunks > > > > "the list is frequented...by spooks, trolls, and other sources of > > negative influence, surveillance or disruption. I don't know anything about who are the subscribers to the list. It's an open list, so there is no reason for government or whomever to approach me if they want to monitor the list. > > Whoever wrote that obviously knows who these 'actors' are, and > > there's no reason for him to protect them. > > > > > > I'll be waiting, as I think any other honest poster will. > > > > Reminds of before I forgot everything, seeing that quote. > > Things seemed much simpler on only one side. > > Would you like we started a list? Raw data to facilitate analysis of writings by people who have posted to cypherpunks is easy enough - the full archive is freely available, and even the archive from before the list was in its current home. https://lists.cpunks.org Of course, that doesn't help with (a) lurkers, (b) remailers/redistributors, (c) people who don't subscribe, but watch the archives, and (d) any other surveillance to individual or collective list members. ~ Greg > I could use my behavior properties being labeled and timestamped pretty > badly. > > >

All Marxists are racist Capital, vol. 3, chapter 47: “ The possibility is here presented for definite economic development taking place, depending, of course, upon favourable circumstances, inborn racial characteristics, etc...” Engels: (Marx and Engels, Selected Works, Vol. 3, p. 502.): “We regard economic conditions as the factor which ultimately determines historical development. Russian troops stole $5M worth of farm vehicles from a John Deere dealership, which remotely locked the thieves out of the equipment

Russian troops occupying the Ukrainian city of Melitopol stole nearly $5 million of farm vehicles from a John Deere dealership and shipped some of them more than 700 miles to Chechnya, CNN reported, only to find they had been rendered useless by a remote-locking system that prevented the thieves from turning the equipment on. Two compound harvesters, valued at $300,000 each, as well as 27 other tractors, seeders, and additional pieces of equipment were stolen from the dealership. But the remote access technology of the equipment, which allows for GPS tracking and some of the vehicles to be remotely operated, prevented them from being used. "When the invaders drove the stolen harvesters to Chechnya, they realized that they could not even turn them on, because the harvesters were locked remotely," a source familiar with the incident told CNN.

Protecting Against Third and Fourth Party Portfolio Risks
by Gunnar Larson 02 May '22

The state of third and fourth party risk(s) are high, according to a new whitepaper. Vinminder has released their “State of Third Party Risk 2022 Whitepaper” describing cutting edge third party and fourth party strategies. As an added bonus, Litigation Finance Journal has collated 40 highlights to the research. According to the whitepaper <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U67qX9RXVwQswxk0vikSAYKtWwFmCPMV/view?usp=…>, managing third party risk is frustrating. When adding on assessment of fourth party risk hinged to third party relationships prudent planning is necessary. This can come in the form of third party loans to bad ESG borrowers <https://litigationfinancejournal.com/directors-who-manipulate-esg/>. Litigation investors seem to agree on the nature of third and fourth party risk, but the jury is out on overall responsibility to such claims. The first party is responsible for these matters according to Vinminder’s whitepaper.
