But what he can or cannot say is clearly specified from the day he is sworn in. He can lie to people who are not his bosses, who do not have security clearances. Most congressmen do not have security clearances. When Senator Frank Church asked me something, and he said, "Will you take an oath," I said, "Senator, I'll take the oath, and I wouldn't think of telling you the truth." Personally, I like Colby very much. He's a very fine man, but he's just the wrong kind of guy to be head of the CIA. He's a good guy. For unknown reasons, this has been totally forgotten. Fortunately we rely on Snowden to remember for us, and he says he revealed the truth for the first time ever. The news media backs him up on this. Waiting for Best to come out with some bland matter of fact article about historical government lies to the public, that'd make your brain lame. The interesting thing about Miles Copeland is that he does provide the unvarnished horrible truth of how some things work, as far as I can tell based on what little information is publicly available. Maybe no one asks me anything because they are afraid of the answers, not from what influence I would have (which is a non-problem since we got here by consensus, what could one person even do with diffuse authority?). Andrea Shepard mentions that the Tor fork stinks of Russia psyops ( https://twitter.com/puellavulnerata/status/769311082318036992 ). It obviously failed. How would the next time succeed? This Tor fork operation likely failed because it did not take into account obvious measures of status, if Joshua Yabut had joined Tor and made contributions and gained social capital before the crisis, he would be more likely to succeed and draw a following by splitting off at the moment of crisis. He did things in the wrong order. Interestingly, he was NASA Red Team, or cyber counter intelligence, much like the creator of Encyclopedia Dramatica, but I digress. But Joshua Yabut has an obvious connection to the US Army, former infantry. There have been many suspicious events involving the US Army's history. McCarthy's investigation of Communist subversion failed when he went after the army (more obscure voices will point to another investigation into another agency). Lee Harvey Oswald was in the navy before defecting to Russia, there were allegations that he provided information that allowed the U-2 to be shot down. More recently, CIA militias in Syria are fighting Pentagon militias in Syria ( http://www.latimes.com/world/middleeast/la-fg-cia-pentagon-isis-20160327-st… ). There are also allegations that the Pentagon sabotaged the State Department's peace deal with Russia. This has been characterized many ways, Cowboy vs Yankee War, Moldbug's Red Empire vs Blue Empire. There is certainly some sort of internal antagonism being played out in the world. Regardless, nothing is quite what it seems, and searching for the truth is unrewarding. Better to find it at the bottom of a bottle. P.S. I wonder how many times Zerodium pays for the same exploit from different researchers. Afterall, if they stiff a researcher, they can always alert the maintainers of the code, if they aren't one themselves. P.P.S. How much does it cost to have a botnet untraceably DDOS Tor?

And was promptly arrested The tale started last week when an unnamed 18-year-old found that he was able to, when purchasing a ticket online, poke the BKK website in a particular way to modify the ticket's price and buy it at that new price. The BKK then held a press conference at which its CEO Kálmán Dab◈czi proudly announced they had caught a hacker and had filed an official complaint against him. For his part, the T-Systems' CEO Zoltán Kaszás has also been forced to apologize, especially after it was revealed the company is paid $1m a year to maintain the system and its security.

Approximately 600,000 Red Army soldiers sacrificed their lives to save Poland from Nazi occupation and genocide, as well as to liberate the many death camps that the fascists constructed on the country’s territory. It’s a terrible affront to these martyrs and their Polish allies that Warsaw is undertaking such a radical approach to historical revisionism, but all moral objections aside, there seems to be little that can be done to reverse this decision and ensure that the monuments remain standing in their original locations for generations to come. Polish dissident Mateusz Piskorski was organizing a grassroots campaign to save these statues in the run-up to the looming passing of this controversial legislation, but he’s since been imprisoned for over a year already on politically trumped up allegations of supposedly being Russian and/or Chinese “spy”. Leaving aside the ridiculousness of the accusations being levelled against him, his arrest deprived Polish civil society of a strong voice to lobby on behalf of historical justice, and it probably also intimidated many of his supporters from carrying on the cause. ...
