[RUS] Russia's version of its Afghanistan war
by Zenaan Harkness 15 Feb '18

15 Feb '18

Just a little different to the story we in the West are largely familiar with - Afghanistan the graveyard of empires, brutal Soviet occupation, the USSR "lost" the war, etc: https://sputniknews.com/russia/201802151061681322-gromov-afghanistan-soviet…

The least probable thing in the world is my innocence
by Ryan Carboni 15 Feb '18

15 Feb '18

Everyone knows about my case, and in silent remarks, dismiss it because I must be evil incarnate to a cartoonish level. I began pointing out obvious deductions about the world for the sole reason of gaining positive notoriety, without feedback, I had no idea I was accomplishing nothing. Obviously random people coming in out of the blue generally aren't trusted with exceptional claims. Guantamano Bay prison is illegal in the eyes of many, despite government officials basing their conclusion on classified evidence. I don't know what anyone is arguing for, they all really seem to have only picked a side and decided to spout words with no real meaning attached to them. What I have been accused of is fundamentally incompatible with my psychological makeup, and I wish to prove it with an EEG or some other test. There is no way to see into other men's hearts, or minds, but there are close enough ways. I am innocent. I am invoking my rights as a human being born in the United States, I have been harassed and my life sabotaged by the US government, I am wholly dependent on my parents, and they have been convinced by a psychiatrist who is in violation of the Hippocratic Oath. I have for the longest time wondered why the government would act so boldly against me. I cannot convince anyone to take any action that would change my situation one iota. If you want me to decode typical Schnidler: http://observer.com/2017/12/james-clapper-tells-cnn-donald-trump-is-vladimi… Spy bosses are by nature the most tight-lipped of people. Those who head our intelligence agencies got there in no small part by knowing precisely what to say to whom, when. In recent decades, as the heads of Western intelligence have emerged from the shadows and are expected to make occasional public statements, their utterances are customarily vague, requiring extensive tea-leaf analysis to derive their actual meanings. --- You are all easily: tricked, deceived, and manipulated. And if you want to know what I think about the accidental outing of Lucky Winner, well, I doubt the government contractor who said the document wasn't official and went on to tell the government there's a leak, well, he's going to be protected by The Intercept, and the contractor probably thinks The Intercept is on the up and up, although a bit incompetent. You are blind.

This is the worst of all possible worlds
by Ryan Carboni 14 Feb '18

14 Feb '18

For some unknown reason, ATMs are not mandated to have military-grade cybersecurity. Since apparently rogue technicians can access them and have them release all their cash. I live in the worst of all possible imaginable worlds, at least if decent things were denied to people because they didn't exist or because they were too poor, that would be one thing. It's another if banks don't care about their own money.

I will condemn Russia that will put Mensch to shame
by Ryan Carboni 13 Feb '18

13 Feb '18

What the Russians did at Beslan was wholly negligent. They pumped in tranquilizer gas, they can do that, governments are allowed some discretion in that area. But the gas was apparently classified, they had civilian doctors treat the victims without any knowledge about it. Russia isn't a small country, they have plenty of military doctors they could have pulled to treat people. They also take in corruption as much money as the Soviets had spent on defense. Instead of protecting their country or investing in it, they enrich themselves many times over. They also ban comedy. No legitimate government bans comedy. P.S. The Soviets import as much grain as Russia currently exports. Someone, go puzzle that out.

PRESIDENTIAL POORTRAIT
by Maui Wowie 13 Feb '18

13 Feb '18

'Coolest Monkey in the Jungle', amirite ? [pic related] Lol but for real tho. The artist did a matte painting in photoshop, using the fucking clone stamp tool, to forever portray the first Halfrican President of the United States. Mr. Obama should have this shit repainted by an actual artist, not some third-year art school student. The "painting" is so bad that wikipedia is censoring it, and four other presidential portraits, citing 'Public Domain Issues'. Second [pic related] proves they are full of shit.

Re: [Cryptography] Useless side channels
by Ryan Carboni 12 Feb '18

12 Feb '18

I'm pretty sure it is illegal for airplane mode not to halt all transmissions. Of course this won't matter. I looked into my BIOS settings and apparently there is spread-spectrum modulation to reduce EMI? No idea if it reduces or masks side channel emissions. MAYBE THIS REQUIRES RESEARCH. There are serious vulnerabilities, and everyone looks the other way. It is a great mystery. Somehow there is demand for hardware random number generators when you could fit an antenna to the microphone jack and pick up low frequency cosmic background radiation. Or even higher frequencies, wifi requires error correction because of imperfections within the circuitry and echoes from walls requiring full knowledge of the device's placement and design. In the end, the most amazing thing is that every purported benefit is really a hindrance, and real beneficial things without secret problems are ignored. No really, look for every touted benefit that seems to provide marginal benefit over a simpler solution, and it is really an elaborate backdoor. x86 is designed for the unlikely scenario that a computer only needs a few dozen threads. P.S. Buy iPhones, not Android, because the Apple tax is really the price for cybersecurity. In some mystery, carrier-specific forks of Android should really use a subset of apps, unique sprites, and unique bootloader screens. If Google cared about cybersecurity, they would bar outdated phones from being sold that can access Google Play. Android 4.4 devices are STILL BEING SOLD. Ideally when people buy products, money goes towards a trust for long term maintenance of them. Like cemeteries. A properly designed product would be supported for a long time. Purism's products seem to be from an irrational design basis that the GPL will cure everything.

“No reconciliation is possible between the useful and those who believe themselves entitled to their enslavement.”
by Zenaan Harkness 12 Feb '18

12 Feb '18

The big reset might be closer than some think... The following is ZeroHedge at its best (note the last para quoted below, or read the whole hog). Enjoy, Take away the undeserved from the undeserving and you get a tantrum. Steal the earned from those who earned it and you get righteous rage. One’s a firecracker, the other a volcano. The game has been to impress upon the useful a moral obligation to support the useless, but the volcano’s about to blow, burying that obscene morality in lava and ash. Given the staggering levels of accumulated debt and promises, the useful know their talents, skills, hard work, productivity and futures have been mortgaged for the useless. This is the salient and intractable social division. No reconciliation is possible between the useful and those who believe themselves entitled to their enslavement. “The Useful and the Useless,” SLL, 3/23/17 https://straightlinelogic.com/2017/03/23/the-useful-and-the-useless-by-robe… Found here: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-02-11/gravity-works "Gravity Works..." … When the government implodes, those on the receiving end of its largess are going to be united by only two things: their outrage and their inability to do anything about it. They’ll have all the solidarity of cannibals trying to eat one another. Against that backdrop will be the group who wants to provide for itself…and knows how to do so. Individualism, self-sufficiency, and a love of freedom and inviolable liberties are not dead in America, but those who support them have been driven underground. They’ll stay underground come the collapse—advertising abilities and provisions will be an invitation to brutalization, robbery and murder—but they’ll fend off the rampaging hordes, survive, and reemerge. Do they have to reemerge, can’t they just emerge to set things right without all the collapse and carnage? Unfortunately not. For those pinning their hopes on political education and action, what are the chances of convincing the half of the country that’s riding the government gravy train to hop off to prevent insolvency and ruin? The question answers itself. They’ll have to be pushed off. Trump’s election was a cry of protest, and he’s ruffled some feathers. However, eight years of around-the-clock, 24/7 presidential effort couldn’t undo decades of ruinous policies, many of which Trump has actually embraced: out of control spending, deficits, debt, and empire. Trump will be battling falling equity markets, rising interest rates, and swamp vermin. Things have to get much worse before they can get better, but just as nothing goes up forever, nothing goes down forever. Collapse’s silver lining may be that it offers a chance for freedom and inviolable liberties to finally emerge from underground. …
