From a report: The company, America's largest retailer, said it will stop selling handgun ammunition and ammunition for short-barrel rifles after selling all of its current inventory. Walmart will also stop selling handguns in Alaska, the only state where it still sells handguns. Courts are measures and machines for collecting cash for governments nowadays. You see this all time pertaining to traffic cases. However, this is not the fault of judges, the court system, politicians,or government in my opinion. It is the fault largely due to the American people who have become so fearful,lazy, and ignorant pertaining to their rights and the duties of their governing bodies and officials, so much so that their elected officials tell them what to do despite the people paying the elected officials via their tax dollars. Employers (American people) are supposed to telltheir employees (government officials) what to do, but no longer with American citizens. Americans, generally speaking, have been successfully dumb downed! People fear government instead of government fearing people. This was the slogan of the movie "V For Vendetta". The 5th edition was the last edition to contain case-decisional law orlegal precedent. All editions after the 5th edition - the 6th, 7th, 8th, and now 9th, do not contain case-decisional law or legal precedent. [from 1215.org] However, Black's Law Dictionary, 5th through 7th Editions are not as accurate because references to common law are progressively removed, and Roman Civil Law concepts are augmented in order to conform to the law enforcement needs of political power centers such as the Federal Government and the United Nations. The rule of thumb is that older dictionaries are useful for understanding natural rights, common law, personal sovereignty, and the people's point of view. Newer dictionaries are useful for understanding civil rights, Roman civil law, centralized authority, and the government's point of view. All attorneys are trained in the latter. I make no such clever argument, but democracies are founded on persuasion, hence the ballot box and the jury box. Society must function in spite of errors, perfection is the enemy of good, etc. As long as policies fulfill a commonly agreed upon objective, is this not democracy in action? Johnstone has a real flair for apropos! "One of the greatest British rock musicians of all time" or rather one of the greatest rock musicians of all time. Doing a concert for Assange. For us all. For our rights and freedoms. And Johnstone nails it with, in hindsight, the obvious: "A society is only as free as its most troublesome dissident". And Julian Assange is surely that - the modern empire's most troublesome dissident, exposing many secrets that pain the empire to be reminded of, and which remind the masses in this our shared world of the evil of the current Western empire/regime. You see this same dynamic constantly, whether it’s with military interventions, trade deals, or narrative-shaping campaigns against non-aligned governments. The persecution of Julian Assange tells us about the kind of society we actually live in. We are inundated from early childhood with feel-good slogans about freedom and democracy, which we are told must be spread to everyone on earth as forcefully as necessary even if we have to kill every last one of them. In reality we live in a society made of lies and led by liars, who violently persecute anyone who exposes the truth. These people are your oppressors. These people are your prison wardens. This NY Times article focuses entirely on local opinions about Liberal Studies. It makes no comparative analysis, or even examination of what Liberal Studies is.
