Given that governments and corporations usually have technology that exceeds the community, and that artificial intelligence can complete technological and physical research, providing universal "magic", is the correct thing to do to quickly research peak technology, so as to end the conflict and level the playing field? Batsoup and angry free luddites may instead propose that we struggle to physically fight and take down the existing infrastructure. Such behavior likely has some kind of impact, but not always the expected one. In the 2010s, political influence corporations like Cambridge Analytica used machine learning with public data to enumerate properties and predict behaviors of every single citizen of a given country, providing for significantly reduce privacy. It's hard to believe this enumeration was 100% exhaustive, given the diversity of life experiences out there. Still, it is frightening, and I'm sure research has improved since. It makes one wonder what would be needed for resistance against the various forms of real, serious slavery, to succeed.

Maybe this has been posted before. https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/green-tech/a35970222/radioactive-d… This company claims it will have a nanotechnology-based, nuclear-waste-powered, nondepleting battery in production by 2023. I'm not sure whether they have an actual prototype, or whether they explain how ionizing particle radiation is supposedly being contained, but it is being published by many news outlets right now. They say they were going to release, then coronavirus suddenly hit and they had to delay.

The Myanmar military can control terrestrial Internet, but they would have much more difficulty blocking Internet from space, and where there is no inherent reason that the Starlink management must obtain the approval of the government of that region. This may be ineffective in a very few cases, such as North Korea or perhaps Cuba, but in the large majority of nations, the governments want the luxury of being 'authoritarian-lite', yet want to have a mostly-functioning Internet. But merely having Starlink doesn't solve the whole problem. What I think Cypherpunk-oriented people could usefully do is to figure out how to. 1 Protect the Starlink ground terminals from detection by RDF (radio direction finding) means. One partial method would be to designate some of these stations as "receive-only", so that they don't give away their locations. 2. An even bigger problem:. How does the information downloaded by a ground station get, usably, to people in that nation, without risking tracing such links? Presumably this will include networks of anonymization sites, if somehow that remains allowed.
