BELL's AP theory refuted
by professor rat 22 May '21

22 May '21

Jim Bell thought he could steal the anarchist concept called ' propaganda of the deed ' and pass it off as his own genius idea just by transfer to the ( then new ) internet. To demonstrate the bad-faith involved in this exercise its enough to see how much Freudian claptrap he quotes in support of this bullshit. So he's just another in a long line of carpetbagging opportunists - like Hughes and Mongo - and an inspiration for Royal scumbags like Julian Assmange and Craig Wright. Its good he's in poor health now and will soon be dead. Good riddance to fake revolutionaries.

I'm posting this on-list to make sure Shawn sees my reply. I replied to him directly but I don't know if the heliohost.us --> rushpost.com path works. As another datapoint, last week part(I think) of heliohost.us got banned by google, and if I send a message to gmail.com I do get a 'message can't be delivered' bla bla reply. I was also told that the bans eventually clear, though I have my doubts. On Fri, 21 May 2021 10:33:54 -0500 "Shawn K. Cock.li to hotmail messages are silently discarded. > > If this is intentional on the part of Google, it's absolutely despicable. kinda looks like there is one 'shared' blocking list and it's being used by pg's spam filter, it's being used by google, and...the rest of the arpanet prolly.

[fiction] Writing an Operating System Before Breakfast
by Karl 21 May '21

21 May '21

Obviously this is not intended for anyone who take offense at it; it's not about you; it is just a persistent experience. A random bully joined a computer mailing list full of people who could write an operating system before breakfast. "Hi peeps! It is so cool that you can write an entire operating system before breakfast! How do you keep all those system details in your heads? Your minds must be so huge!" "Uhh.. What's an operating system? I do a little exercise before breakfast." "... this is the list of people who write operating systems before breakfast, isn't it?" "Yes, definitely, that's us!" "So, do you write an operating system before breakfast?" "Sometimes. On my good days. All the time, really." "Great. I have some trouble with my operating system. Do you know what a kernel panic is?" "Sounds like when you need to buy more precut corn?" "No ... a kernel panic is an operating system thing! You like operating systems, right?" "I love to write them before breakfast. I have a notebook for it and everything." "Okay, so, computers are made of assembly language and posix signals." "Foreign languages and secret messages?" "Something like that. _assembly_ language and _posix_ signals." "Assembly and posix." "Yes! Now, say that more, please." "I was speaking assembly language before breakfast but didn't write my posix signals well enough." "Great! You've got it! I'm happy to be part of your list."

Karl's [spam] (Re: *SPAM* Filter borked,)

I updated the Subject line and broke the thread for the below: On Thu, May 20, 2021 at 07:28:12PM -0400, Karl wrote: > Hey Greg, > > > Personally, I don't think this is necessary. [spam][spam] I think it was off the general list topics. As in, not very related to the cryptoanarchist topics we're allegedly here for. However, I didn't think it was spam. Maybe that's just me: SPAM is more or less equivalent, in my mind, to unsolicited commercial email (UCE). We barely get any of that on the cypherpunks list. BTW, the old archives at https://lists.cpunks.org are filled with UCE. > Compared to this? > > Hey does anybody have any tips on learning rust on an airgapped machine? Cargo just > > keep frustrating me so much. Is there a crate mirror anywhere? If I made one, would > > anybody else use it? I found the discussion about whether rusted iron filings are magnetic to be completely within bounds for the cypherpunks list. Again, that's just my opinion. > >>If you are truly posting something that is off-topic, then an "[offtopic]" > >Iindicator or similar might be a good way to indicate that. > > I can maybe switch to thatt<okay i wanted to revise this to maybe even > change what I was expressing but my input dialog box is moving my > cursor all around and it is very hard to navigate, so sending as is. > sorry about this.[spam]> honestly I was "trained" to disrupt > communities like this and I want to give people a clear way to protect > themselves from that disruption a little., when I can figure it out. > at all. Without trying to speak for anyone but myself: Do as you please with the subject headings. I was merely suggesting that the [spam] tag probably isn't needed, in my view. Trying to disrupt cypherpunks is sort of a cottage industry around here. When disruption is the norm, it makes disruption tougher to do! Greg
