Retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor, who served under Trump as a senior Department of Defense official, was interviewed by Russian state media outlet RIA Novosti & complained that Biden “disregarded Russia’s interests.” In the past, he also appeared on RT. https://thedailybeast.com/russian-state-tv-drops-deranged-love-letter-to-it…

[crazy][wrong] Considering Deploying a Man in the Middle Attack on a Victim
by Karl 09 Dec '21

09 Dec '21

I'll be the victim. This idiot Karl is messing the internet all up with his derogatory speech. Let's make the world a better place by filtering everything he says so that it's nice! Luckily I am Karl, so I will be able to figure out what the heck is going on in my life, by being the person causing the problem. I really do have a problem with posting crazy things to mailing lists on the internet, so it would be pretty nice if some completely transparent system that I am in complete control of, would mutate anything rude or harmful I might say to be nice, so that I don't make enemies during psychotic breaks. Deploying a mitm attack on the stupid idiot typing this email is a challenge. There are a few difficult parts: - writing code to mutate packets live without disrupting network sessions - figuring out and implementing a workaround to SSL if the guy uses it - training a language model to mutate his speech in the desired manner This idea seems _so incredibly cool_ to me, that I have actually already started step #3 in a tiny, microscopic, nonexistent manner. https://vast.ai/ is a service that provides brief access to high-end machines for training transformer models to make deepfakes and such.

Biden is failing democracy & helping authoritarians
by professor rat 09 Dec '21

09 Dec '21

Biden was Bambi's partner in crime when that then POTUS set up a Potemkin Democracy in Burma and refused to send tanks to besieged Ukraine. Bidens failure to demand accountability for Burma and his waffle about sanctions against Russia - instead of advanced missiles & tanks, means he is failing democracy at the worst possible time. For this is a time when Syria was 30's Spain again, KGB Russia is Nazi Germany and red-fascist China is the new imperialist, militarist aggressive Japan. The Free World ( comparatively ) needs a new Churchill, not another Chamberlain. Poor bugger my Anglosphere.

James O'Keefe is a liar and a thief
by professor rat 09 Dec '21

09 Dec '21

That's been common knowledge for many years - but he may have recently decided to become a full-time criminal. Bit like Julian Assmange and Jim Dumbell. I did a little library research, checking Black's Law Dictionary. Here is the entry for this item: "Misprision of felony. The offense of concealing a felony committed by another, but without such previous concert with or subsequent assistance to the felon as would make the party concealing an accessory before or after the fact. United States v. Perlstein, C.C.A.N.J., 126 F.2d 789, 798. Elements of the crime are that the principal committed and completed the felony alleged, that the defendant had full knowledge of that fact, that the defendant failed to notify the authorities, and that defendant took an affirmative step to conceal the crime. U.S. v. Ciambrone, C.A. Nev., 750 F.2d 1416, 1417. Whoever, having knowledge of the actual commission of a felony recognizable by a court of the United States, conceals and does not as soon as possible make known the same to some judge or other person in civil or military authority under the United States, is guilty of the federal crime of misprision of felony. 18 U.S.C.A 4." See also Obstructing Justice in Black's Law Dictionary.
