Leaks: Intel Alder Lake Bios Source Code Published

https://twitter.com/_markel___/status/1578771873508519936 https://twitter.com/SttyK/status/1578582946352488448 https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intels-alder-lake-bios-source-code-report… https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-confirms-6gb-alder-lake-bios-source… Commits by "lcfuturecenter.com" Private keys, build tools, etc. https://twitter.com/curatedintel vx-underground @vxunderground The source code to the Intel Alder Lake has been leaked online. * Alder Lake CPU was released November 4, 2021 * Source code is 2.8GB (compressed) * Leak (allegedly) from 4chan * We have not reviewed the entirety of the code base, it is massive A very bad thing happened: now, the Intel Boot Guard on the vendor's platforms can no longer be trusted... :( As if any closed source black box with 10+ Billions of gates ever could be, lol. Richard Hughes @hughsient So, hypothetically, could we build a coreboot which runs on a modern laptop with BG enabled? Not sure about the *legality* of using another vendors signing key... Nikolaj Schlej @NikolajSchlej If that is really a KeyManifest signing key, and there are any machines that have a hash of the public key fused into FPFs, BG on that platform is under nearly full control. I.e. one can generate a new BootPolicy signing key and protect any BG-protectable range, including none. LOLbins. Yes.

Cryptocurrency: UoM Find 86% Tor Stinks BTC LN Tx Bridges w No-Privacy Zmap Scan
by grarpamp 21 Oct '22

21 Oct '22

> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tor_(network) Developing work in privacy crypto space is beginning to seriously question legacy projects who... - Flat out refuse to implement any onchain privacy, let alone even any TLS transport. - Charge $hundred in fees for even single low-random joins when real 2^strong equivalent privacy requires many such joins, and needs special wallets and tools, then claims that's the "usable" future. - Claim that fully NSA and LE and "research" monitored and operated Tor Network is somehow super secure, then proceed to shovel unsuspecting brainwashed users on to it, further using that outsourced excuse to not make any onchain onprotocol privacy. - Claim that Lightning is some magical fix to everything when clearly it is not, even mooting advertised uses. ps: Saylor needs to wake up and analyze LN issues, and coin privacy. Even $Billionaires get more privacy from Cash and Gold than Bitcoin, more unconstrained transactability than LN over Tor. Oh how the world is crying out for real privacy in a minimalistic p2p cash money, yet Bitcoin continues to dodge providing it. Perhaps the same actors are involved in BTC that have for decades continued to help ensure that... "Tor Stinks -- NSA" https://archive.org/details/SilverBulletsandFairyTails https://twitter.com/hillebrandmax Bitcoin money-bags to the rescue The Tor Project @torproject: A big thank you to @HillebrandMax for writing about how the Tor network is critical privacy infrastructure that can only thrive with community support. As a small nonprofit, recurring donations are key for long-term sustainability. bitcoinmagazine.com Tor Is Under Attack And Bitcoiners Must Help Fix It With a lack of funding, the Tor project is struggling to defend against denial-of-service attacks, putting Bitcoin projects at risk. Tor a small project?... Not exactly, look at their budget docs, and that multi $million fraudulently offered NFT sale of theirs. Donate instead to new projects working on next generation privacy protocols, instead of those building trappings and captured retirement incomes around 20+ year old broken designs.

Cryptocurrency: Flawed Fundamentals to Soon Fail the Crypto Movement, Avalanche-AVAX
by grarpamp 21 Oct '22

Rocket Team Avalanche AVAX ... https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmUy4jh5mGNZvLkjies1RWM4YuvJh5o2FYopNPVYwrRVGV AVAX: Blockchain startup raises a quick $42M in first sale. -- Cornell Chronicle AVAX: A startup technology company was founded to develop a blockchain network that would meet complex finance industry requirements. -- Bloomberg Apparently yet another premined, ico, pos, corporate investor coin. Who can issue, control, see, censor, sue, regulate, shutdown, and usurp Avalanche AVAX ??? Do you bet cypherpunks can find such not even trivially attempted to mitigate problems in ten thousand of coins out there? That there are not even maybe only 10 total coins that even try to be both just a minimalist Freedom money and to avoid those problems. Satoshi, and many other projects, just volunteer their time and don't do sellout ICO premine governance corruption crap. So many are failing crypto at such fundamental levels. So many cryptos full of unnecessary bling features. So much look-at-me fame and get-rich sought by "devs" and crypto Corps. No one talking Freedom. Not a single coin yet usable for such a simple task as standing to be even a 20+ year global private p2p cash money, unprintable, uncensorable, unregulateable, unstoppable. That coin will be famous. Its devs will be unknown. It won't be Bitcoin, or AVAX. It will change the world. Make it happen.

The Raleigh shooting was the latest in a violent week across the US. Five people were killed Sunday in a shooting at a home in Inman, South Carolina. On Wednesday night two police officers were fatally shot in Connecticut after apparently being drawn into an ambush by an emergency call about possible domestic violence. Police officers have been shot this week in Greenville, Mississippi; Decatur, Illinois; Philadelphia, Las Vegas and central Florida. Two of those officers, one in Greenville and one Las Vegas, were killed. https://www.theage.com.au/world/north-america/raleigh-north-carolina-police… Reposts reloaded

Professor Rat's Video Recorder, and His Lame Email Threading
by grarpamp 21 Oct '22

On 10/20/22, professor rat <pro2rat(a)yahoo.com.au> wrote: > I could once program a Video-recorder Yet apparently you're somehow too dumb to hit the "Reply [to all / group / list]" button on your email such that it maintains proper threading? Say it isn't so. Surely your big pompous grandstanding ego self would want people to see your replies in ready threaded context. So why do you insist on burying your replies beyond people's care to chase them back into view? Such dethreading is not helping your cause at all. And Yahoo's webmail is crap, consider upgrade to a standalone client that supports GPG, and point it at Yahoo's servers instead... https://www.thunderbird.net/

SAM BANKMAN-FRIED needs killing ( My 200 sats )
by professor rat 21 Oct '22

>>> SBF's suggestion that tools enabling retail traders access to DeFi protocols be regulated triggered horror among those who argue apps like Uniswap are simply software and thus can't be censured. One particularly loud voice is that of scupytrooples, the pseudonymous founder of DeFi protocol Alchemix, who tweeted a list of unsubstantiated complaints against Bankman-Fried. "I see them using the playbook of large corporations, where they ascend to the top, and then get involved in lobbying to make rules favorable for them to hurt the competition, and ultimately cement their position there," scupytrooples told The Block. "No different from Amazon, Exxon Mobil, Goldman, etc." "He's been on the record that he doesn't care about crypto and is only here for the money." Anthony Sassano, a well-known independent Ethereum educator, also criticized the FTX boss: "SBF is and always will be a cancer on this ecosystem," he wrote to his 225,000 Twitter followers. "Anyone supporting him and his cronies should be ashamed." <<< >From THE BLOCK newsletter Remember that Arb from the 80's , Ivan Boesky? Someone tried to assassinate him. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_A._Mulheren
