Lumos System Can Find Hidden Cameras and IoT Devices in Your Airbnb or Hotel Room
by jim bell 25 May '22

https://thehackernews.com/2022/05/lumos-system-can-find-hidden-cameras.html A group of academics has devised a system that can be used on a phone or a laptop to identify and locate Wi-Fi-connected hidden IoT devices in unfamiliar physical spaces. With hidden cameras being increasingly used to snoop on individuals in hotel rooms and Airbnbs, the goal is to be able to pinpoint such rogue devices without much of a hassle. The system, dubbed Lumos, is designed with this intent in mind and to "visualize their presence using an augmented reality interface," said Rahul Anand Sharma, Elahe Soltanaghaei, Anthony Rowe, and Vyas Sekar of Carnegie Mellon University in a new paper.

C-punk history revisionists are getting more credentialed - So?
by professor rat 25 May '22

25 May '22

Starting around 2012 right-revisionist history efforts have been tried by Assmange ( " Cypherpunks " ) Vinay Gupta ( 2014 " Teaching libertarians " ) and Reason magazine’s more recent effort. They all tried. They all died. Now here come statist academics attacking us from the Left. They will fare no better since we ask no quarter and we grant no quarter.

Cryptoanarchy transcended its right-libertarian roots by 2002 ( Crypto Winter )

So Btc ( 2008 ) was post-right-wing and this showed in its ' Millicent Ghetto " P2P approach as well as its public facing aspect. Hal Finney also said publicly " I am not a libertarian " https://twitter.com/resistancemoney/status/1527427312912076801 As for being anti-authoritarian without being opposed to the nation-state. Well I wish you luck with a capital " F ", Andy.

Cryptocurrency shares history & agenda with radical, pro-privacy & civil rights cryptographers called “cypherpunks.”
by professor rat 25 May '22

cryptocurrency shares a history and agenda with the radical, pro-privacy and civil rights cryptographers called the “cypherpunks.” https://www.coindesk.com/layer2/2022/05/24/bitcoin-is-apolitical-but-wont-b… "… bitcoin belongs to the right, politically. That’s why we keep seeing politicians like Cruz calling for crypto “oases” and Warren for the industry to be tamped down . . . " Dunny Kahn Murtaza Hussain, a reporter at left-leaning publication The Intercept, recently wrote about “Liz Warren’s bitcoin blind spot,” noting that crypto could be a tool for financial inclusion to counter corporate power and mitigate governmental overreach. So Coindesk’s Dunny Khan conflates Btc with crypto in either a criminally negligent way or just a criminal way. Meh.
