Bounties on known list pests
by professor rat 19 Dec '21

I have three deadpools going on list pests, Gramps, Semich and Batshit-Crazy. Better to wax these noisy losers like a candle than curse the darknets. Bounty Law applies in cryptoanarchy - and always has - since 1996 TIMOTHY " An anonymous computerized market will even make possible abhorrent markets for assassinations and extortion " C. MAY 1992 TIM " I guess now that the Pentagon is setting up a murder pool it can't be illegal for us to do it " MAY. 2003

C-punks are not about " Crypto' or " Privacy ' alone
by professor rat 19 Dec '21

In one of his rare lucid intervals, Assmange said recently , " Cypherpunks are about privacy for the poor and transparency for the rich ". Just as modern cryptography is used for privacy AND authentication which may be public. Sear " The Blockchain as public ledger ". Those trying to assert cypherpunks are just about crypto have a Mongo problem since he asserted this list was designed to discuss the socio-economic ie POLITICAL effects of ubiquitous networked encryption. Those wanting to discuss this ' scaffolding ' in detail were cordially invited to hive off - then the CODERPUNKS list was started. If you are convinced of the cowardly traitors, Eric Hughes, assertions in a narrow sense then you have a serious problem with this list. Btw, its also CRYPTO-ANARCHY, not crypto-privacy or just crypto alone as some sort of apolitical abstraction. Needless to say crypto-currency is not crypto-anarchy either. I don't know how many people that come here read the archives. It seems - not many. Meh. Finally the ancap, rightwing libertarian distro of cypherpunk politics revolves around cyber-liberty NOT crypto-anarchy. As Rothbard says at Mises libertarians like this can never be anarchists.

The metaphor of “bridges” is being used in the blockchain/ subnet space
by professor rat 19 Dec '21

Mazur’s title is “Bridges between Geometry and Number Theory”. The metaphor of “bridges” to describe what unifies mathematics gets a workout in a recent Quanta article about Ana Cariani and the Langlands program entitled The Mathematician Who Delights in Building Bridges (and subtitled Ana Caraiani seeks to unify mathematics through her work on the ambitious Langlands program.) https://www.math.columbia.edu/~woit/wordpress/?p=12584#respond

Conformal symmetry: towards a link between the Fermi & the Planck scales.

Conformal symmetry: towards the link between the Fermi and the Planck scales. https://www.math.columbia.edu/~woit/wordpress/?p=12584#respond Shaposhnikov has done a lot of fascinating work over the years, developing in detail a point of view which hasn’t got a lot of attention, but that seems to me very compelling. He argues that the SM and GR make a perfectly consistent theory up to the Planck scale, with the “naturalness problem” disappearing when you don’t assume something like a GUT scale with new heavy particles.

Bugs in billions of WiFi, Bluetooth chips allow password, data theft

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/bugs-in-billions-of-wifi-blu… Bugs in billions of WiFi, Bluetooth chips allow password, data theft By Bill Toulas Researchers at the University of Darmstadt, Brescia, CNIT, and the Secure Mobile Networking Lab, have published a paper that proves it's possible to extract passwords and manipulate traffic on a WiFi chip by targeting a device's Bluetooth component. Modern consumer electronic devices such as smartphones feature SoCs with separate Bluetooth, WiFi, and LTE components, each with its own dedicated security implementation. However, these components often share the same resources, such as the antenna or wireless spectrum. This resource sharing aims to make the SoCs more energy-efficient and give them higher throughput and low latency in communications. As the researchers detail in the recently published paper, it is possible to use these shared resources as bridges for launching lateral privilege escalation attacks across wireless chip boundaries. The implications of these attacks include code execution, memory readout, and denial of service.

Posting tracking links is not "Embracing Hideouts"

That is an action that is materially opposed to "embracing hideouts". And can be viewed by recipients as both suspect, and lazy. Instead, strip all links of all trackers, URL shorteners, redirects, etc and go straight to the source, ie... https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/idaho/outlaw-hideout-id/

COVID-19 noise Vs signal

>From early 2020 on its been clear to me this latest epidemic out of China had to be taken as a biological warfare assault. There are just too many clues hiding-in-plain-sight to ignore this. " The wicked flee where none pursue " and the CCP act as guilty as certain rapist loose in liberal, democratic and progressive Sweden. But even if this pandemic was accidental there are still plenty of reasons to work for the long overdue death of every Marxist Communist commissar still breathing. There are worse things than war as the poor North Koreans, Uighur and many others are learning this minute. And where-ever there is net access then local rebels can do the heavy lifting. There is already an extraordinary amount of resistance to red-fascist bullying on the ground. Revolutionary defeatism can defeat the Red Army. And I still think the Bear can be played back against the Dragon. Pooter won't be around forever.
