Latter-day Carthage, Harvard, under siege
by professor rat 04 Oct '21

The Harvard Math department seems to not have had a lot of luck with its funders. Last spring they had to close their Program in Evolutionary Genetics, which was funded by Jeffrey Epstein. The very active Center of Mathematical Sciences and Applications has been funded by the Evergrande Group, a real estate investment company that has now run into serious financial problems. I haven't heard what the implications will be for the CMSA in the future..." P. Woit ( Not Even Wrong )

DNS amp attacks
by professor rat 04 Oct '21

04 Oct '21

A single bot in a DNS amplification attack can be thought of in the context of a malicious teenager calling a restaurant and saying “I’ll have one of everything, please call me back and tell me my whole order.” When the restaurant asks for a callback number, the number given is the targeted victim’s phone number. The target then receives a call from the restaurant with a lot of information that they didn’t request. https://www.cloudflare.com/en-au/learning/ddos/dns-amplification-ddos-attac…

I Suspect The People Professor Rat Names As Targets Are All Already In Danger

it's still pretty hard to read the posts But when you step on to the public stage in defense of what is right, you get hurt, and the public does not really understand nor realise this: or we would protect these people more strongly, and talk about doing so in our discourse rather than arguing viewpoints our media give us.

If you own REP I will match your one when you bet one. At the moment I have some short-term projects open. Market-making at Augur is a medium to long-term project. No rest for the wicked!
