When I was targeted in Portland, Maine after I visited the Keystone XL Pipeline resistance and the coalfields of West Virginia, I was an altruist living with complete intent to aid others and the whole world with my every action in every moment. what we eventually found was that we need our model of reduction to be analogous in scale to the severity of the problem. things that are extremely dangerous get extremely reduced so that the danger is not caused. we still have a lot of copying behavior.

it was hard to derive this; we have bigger problems than we could experience "punishment" for if causing them, and we don't model a norm of holding that (e.g. hiroshima and nagasaki).

apes don't fight -- they thump their chests instead. as humans, we try to take that model farther and refrain from violence. but we seem too smart to catch up with ourselves.

long story short: _there is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much suffering going on to punish anybody or hold that as a norm_ _we do still need to model the reasons for punishment, such as making it very clear that very bad things were bad and are being stopped_

maybe the view that trends will eventually fix everything works more easily. any things we try to cause pale in the face of what works best. maybe in that space, pursuing good maybe hastens evolution, and needs the tempered wisdom that we are all wrong in some manner

so part, of being good is _learning_. so when we want to learn to be good, there's learning inhibition that resonates with the good inhibition.

i guess it could be helpful to break it into parts and ensure all the parts were covered. it's just what human hearts do when they aren't tortured and are raised kindly. you could make it bigger by expanding different axes of parts -- what are all the human needs, and how are people with regard to these? (warning: few people have many needs met sufficiently in this speedy millenium) what different kinds of things are there to observe about people? what different kinds of people are there? what things do people influence / what things influence people? what kinds of people are there? id' encourage people to include stuff they care about -- how are trees doing, how are computers doing, how is the news doing, how is your torture equipment doing, how is mental health recovery going, anything you care about to help it be more engagng if needed. but i'd keep it smaller than the human part since we are human and that's how our life resonates.

to clarify here the bribe is more likely to be one or more trafficked brides than money in the modern day in my personal experience

he is twitching and shaking

he arrives at queen joan of arc's court and reign his steed

visitor to slave boss: "i return from slave boss with sad news to bear"

queen joan of arc: "yes?"

visitor to slave boss: "when i told slave boss he must stop slaving, first he tried to bribe me. then he tried to slave me. he refused to stop slaving."

queen joan of arc: "this is sad news indeed."

visitor to slave boss: "additionally, you can no longer trust me as a part of the court, as I have dissociative identity disorder now and will turn against everybody in the most horrible ways at the drop of a pin."

visitor to slave boss bowed their head and solemnly rode off to a lifetime of escape tactics and therapy
