Dear OGF WG members,

In addition to the upcoming OGF 36 just mentiones, at which we hope to see as many of you as possible in person, please note that OGF continues to participate in and to co-sponsor the ongoing activities of the "Cloud Plugfest" series, the next of which is coming up September 17-19, 2012 in Sophia Antipolis, France and Santa Clara, USA as below. Note that remote participation is possible for the Cloud Plugfest events.

If you are interested in participating in testing of OCCI on its own or with other standards, such as CDMI, OVF, DMTF's CIMI, etc., please visit the Cloud Plugfest web site at the link below and sign up for the mailing lists and/or register to participate in the events.

We are also interested in gathering use cases for cloud computing in scientific and organizational settings of use to our community. If you have a use case that you wold like to see put forward in order to attract code developers or projects to try to demonstrate their ability to fill, please send a message to standards at ogf.org<mailto:standards at ogf.org> or to planners at cloudplugfest.org<mailto:planners at cloudplugfest.org>

Finally, there is also interest in gathering as many OGF members as possible to attend the Open World Forum event to represent OCCI and other OGF cloud-applicable standards in a discussion with developers to take place in Paris, immediately after OGF 36 (don't forget OGF 36!). If you are interested in this, please send me mail at standards at ogf.org<mailto:standards at ogf.org>

The goals of the Cloud Plugfest Series are to provide a collaborative environment with the appropriate testing tools needed for software developers and vendors to test their community-based open source or commercial implementations of CDMI, OCCI, OVF and other cloud-related standards. Cloud plugfests will help drive:

• Interoperability between implementations of the same standard
• Interoperability across different standards
• Development of a cloud standards environment for the future of cloud

All cloud implementers are invited to participate in person or remotely using web-based collaboration tools. Participants need not be members of SNIA, CSI, OGF or ETSI and the cost to attend in Europe and remotely is free. A small fee may be required for US participants. Visit the registration link details.

Please visit the Cloud Plugfest<http://www.cloudplugfest.org/home> website for details about why your company should participate in this event.

About Cloud Plugfests - The Cloud Plugfest Series was originated by the Open Grid Forum (OGF<http://www.ofg.com/>) and SNIA Cloud Storage Initiative (CSI<http://www.snia.org/forums/csi>) in 2011. This event is the 6th plugfest in that series and is proudly co-organized by OGF<http://www.ogf.org/>, SNIA and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI<http://www.etsi.org/>).

We look forward to seeing you at the next Cloud Plugfest!
