s.lave boss's family rising to power sometimes people wonder, "why don't you do it a cheaper way?" this leads down an interesting rabbit/snake oil/hole .. the problem is that people don't actually _have_ to work for money. but they don't all _like_ being stuck in a rat race, and once they figure out they can leave, they don't tend to come back. so if you find a cheaper (or free) way to do something, you might have to be careful who learns about it. it's profitable to keep people in that rat race. it can make your businesses bigger. and the bigger your businesses get, the easier it is to keep people trapped in a rat race! it's like a slave boss's awesome feedback loop where y'make more and more money the bigger you get and the more trapped people are. so when there's a cheaper way to do something, you need to keep it away from the escaped workers, or they'll use it to get stronger - slave boss, signing off
