[wg-all] Interoperability Demo Days and Cloud Plugfest event Dec. 11-12 at and after UCC 2014 in London, and OGF meeting opportunities

Dear OGF colleagues,

This note is to call your attention to an event to take place at and immediately following the Utility and Cloud Computing (UCC) conference in London in early December 2014, and to invite your participation as well as that of any projects in which you are involved.

The event will take place December 11 and 12, 2014 beginning on the last day of the UCC 2014 conference and extending one day beyond it at the same hotel. The event will be entitled “Interoperability Demo Days” and will consist of demonstrations of software, infrastructure and standards that promote or include interoperable features by design that are practical for use in real-world implementations. 

The event is incorporated into the agenda of the UCC 2014 conference as shown at the link below, beginning Thursday and extending past the end of the conference through Friday Dec. 12.

Attendance will be free to all UCC 2014 attendees on Thursday; those who would like to attend that day who are not already UCC registrants should register for a day pass at the usual conference rates. This portion is intended to be convenient for those who are already conference attendees. We strongly encourage registration for the UCC event Dec. 8-11, 2014, which includes many special workshops and paper sessions on topics of interest to distributed and high performance utility and cloud computing. Those who would like to extend their stay to attend the Interoperability Demo and Cloud Plugfest on Friday, Dec. 12 can do so at no cost and do not need to register for UCC thanks to sponsorships we have arranged. This portion (Friday only) does not require a UCC 2014 registration.

At this event we hope to show the results of many projects that have interoperability among their goals. The event is open to all, and a presentation request can be made by sending an email message to planners at cloudplugfest.org or by replying to this message. Separate announcements will also be going out from the cooperating sponsoring organizations, which can be found on the Cloud Plugfest web site at http://cloudplugfest.org for example, to members of their constituent communities. We would like to emphasize that presentation is open to all projects and organizations through a selection process to be run by the planning committee to ensure applicability to the announced goals of the event. 

Additional meeting time for OGF and related groups may also be available at the conference and at this event.  If you have a group that would like to meet, please let us know directly by replying to this email.

A virtual Cloud Plugfest will also take place electronically during this week, with a wrap-up session and planning for future Cloud Plugfests to take place Friday during the final portion of the program.
