When I see:

  Resource Information Models

Description: Specifications or standards that provide all or part of an
"information model" for system and / or network resources.
These models may be abstract, representation and protocol
agnostic or more concrete and specify a particular rendering
for the model semnatics and syntax.

Examples: CIM, Data Center Markup Language.

Actions: We need to determine what each of these models covers and at
what depth. How do these model overlap in covering the systems
and network instance space ? (Venn Diagram). Are representation
(or abstraction) easily translated from one model to another.

Then I wonder....

- Have you seen the RFC3444: On the Difference between Information
Models and Data Models. A. Pras,
                             J. Schoenwaelder. January 2003.
                             (Format: TXT=18596 bytes)
                             (Status: INFORMATIONAL)
I (still) believe that making a distinction between the two Models is
important, and it might be good to speak in those terms.

- As example, I am surprised not to see SID which seems to get so much
focus/attention in the NGNMFG discussions. We have Tony (from TMF) here
so maube he can comment on that.

- Do we really want to cater for translations from one to the other all the
time, or would we rather investigate how we can recommend to reduce
the multitude of models and what the applicaibility is of those that
  we beleiev important?
