Hi Stephen,

I completely agree.

As soon as Hiro approves us as new co-chairs, we will put the tasks from the
powerpoint in it as well as other documents/material.

Best regards,

Morris

BTW: @Stephen: I don't forget the Col. Online Vis. and Steering thesis - I
just want to finalize chapter 4 before I send it out. Ciao.

The new GridForge is much better than the old one.

I strongly encourage RUS-WG to make full use of it!

Hi Morris,

I know about the GridForge issues. The RUS group never really moved onto
GridForge fully...

Updating the spec according to issues found in implementation sounds good.
Although I'd hope to see the current spec being published before any
extensions/additions are made. It's always good to have a version 1.0 under
your belt.

Unfortunately, the RUS work is now very far from my work, and so I won't
have any time to participate in the work. I hope to find time to read
drafts of any spec that does get pushed forward, though.

Thanks,

Jon.

First, thanks for this pointer.

We are aware of this specification, but it was not on gridforge which was
leading to some confusions.

Basically, several people agreed to stay with this specification and may add
little modifications that come along during initial implementations.

Are you still interested and are able to investigate some time slots for
this activity?

Best regards,

Morris

All,

The 2004 OGSI-based draft is very old indeed.

There was a WS-I Basic Profile based version, i.e. plain web services, which
made it into public comment. See:

-15.pdf>

15.pdf

This was updated by Steven Newhouse, and draft 17 was sent around to this
list in the following message:

Subject: [rus-wg] Next Revsion

All,

The document revision you thought you would never see....

Attached is a new revision taking into account the public comments from last
year. The XML schemas still need to be updated and validated.

Comments please...

Steven

I hope that the work of the new RUS group will be moving on from this latest
draft. It should be possible to push this version through the OGF editor
pipeline, after the XML schema work gets done.

Cheers,

Jon.
