Morris, Johannes and all,

I am not certain that the SourceForge Engine has sent following
information to any other PGI member than myself, so I am sending it
directly :

I have submitted following review on the PGI Use Case Document, with
'PGI-Use-Cases-Review-Etienne.doc' available at
http://forge.gridforum.org/sf/sfmain/do/downloadAttachment/projects.pgi-wg/docman.root.drafts.use_cases/doc16066/docr1214?id=atch4959
:

Congratulation to Morris and Johannes for having achieved to collect
these Use Cases on Distributed Data Processing (Grids).

Concerning the Use Cases presented by EDGI (chapters 5, 6 and 7), I have
directly :
- added, inside 'Use Case Situation Analysis', the list of relevant
official or de facto standards.
- made cosmetic formatting changes.

For the other chapters, I have inserted comments were needed. The most
important ones are :

- What are the software skills of users : Developers of the
application which they use; Advanced users of the application; Users
of a scientific grid portal or a workflow engine to launch something
they do NOT know at all, but which should give them back useful
scientific results; … ?

- Please provide the detailed sequence of interactions between the
users and the Grid infrastructure. Preconditions, triggers and
postconditions are also useful.

- Which parts of the scheduling are performed by the user, and which
parts are performed by the Grid middleware (matching user requirements
with resource capabilities) ?

- Please provide precise description of resources which are the
boundaries of the Grid infrastructure(s), and whose interfaces are used
by the Use Case.

- Is this really a requirement on Grid middleware, or rather a
requirement on the Workflow engine ?

I have also updated the properties of the MS-Word document.

Best regards.
