[ogsa-naming-wg] WS-Naming extensibility question

This comment comes (for all practical purposes) from a layman* reader
of WS-Naming -- so calibrate accordingly, please! :)
 
There is an apparent disconnect between the comment in Sec. 2.3 ("This
profile defines extensions to the wsa:Metadata extensibility point
within WS-Addressing.") and the disclaimer in App. B, to wit: "This
section identifies extensibility points for the Profile's component
specifications. These mechanisms are out of the scope of the Profile;
their use may affect interoperability, and may require private
agreement between the parties to a Web service."
 
If the Profile defines extensions to the wsa:Metadata extensibility
point, how can wsa:Metadata extensions also be "out of scope of the
Profile"?  Or does the comment in App. B mean to refer only to the
other two parts of WS-Addressing extensibility?
