As you say, if we're not importing any APIs wholesale we should be fine -
most of what we'd incorporate passes the obviousness
test<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inventive_step_and_non-obviousness>anyway...
it's just when people start talking about commercial APIs as
"starting points" that I break out into a cold sweat.

Very happy to see some good progress made with this today... we've got a
solid start and plenty of places to pull in refinements.
