Yes, yes it is. I'm an Invited Expert at W3C (whatever that means) working
on HTML 5... and by "working on" I mean "trying to keep up with", and even
then mostly just in the context of web applications. Most of this stuff is a
walk in the park compared to what those guys have to deal with (but that
said we do have our fair share of unique challenges too - formats need not
be one of them).
