Local to the side interpreting the job? Yes, of course, though it should
be prefixed by 'file:', like this: file:/home/user/directory/file.sh

Files on the system composing the JSDL document are another matter. The
problem is just because you name a thing doesn't mean that the other end
knows what to do to access it. There are a number of workarounds for
this, e.g. starting a local http or ftp server, etc. Two of the most
interesting things you can do though are cid: and data: URI types, which
allow you respectively to either transfer the data as an attachment to
the message conveying the JSDL document or directly embedded within the
document (respectively).

       definition of the cid uri type.
   RFC 2397 <URI:http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2397.txt> defines the data
       uri type.
