Minutes of [infod-wg] INFOD conference call on Thursday, September 22 2005 @ 8 am PDT

Attendees:
Dieter, Abdeslem, Steve, Chris, Cecile, Vijay, Arjun, Ronny(Oracle)

*Dieter introduced Ronny to visit and listen to the group. Ronny's
 interests are in sensor network data and event dissemination.

*Discussion of Arjun's slide. Some agreement and discussion
 that a commonly agreed schema should exist and be extensible 
 with user-specific vocabularies. Preliminary discussions on how this
 might be reasonably implemented.
 Dieter brought up need to do lookup based on vocabularies themselves,
 and that there needs to be a way to associate with communities,
 have entities in the community add new properties,
 and create instances with existing vocabularies.

 Dieter will have Aravind (from Oracle) present at GGF F2F on Oct 3rd
 a concrete implementation of how a registry can handle this.
 The group agreed that the abstractions will be sharpened 
 by looking at a concrete implementation.
  
*Vijay discussed the feedback he received. Feedback asked
 for more precise and technical description.
 Vijay will give a non-technical description first and
 then address more technical description by placing vocabulary
 in INFO-D context.

*Can a consumer consume without a subscription? Dieter offered
 email pattern (consumers receive email without a subscription) 
 as an example.

*GGF
 F2F Oct 3 9:00 am at Oracle, Burlington Offices. Dieter to send
directions.
 Info-d Sessions: Tuesday afternoon. Dieter/Steve will present on
use-cases and patterns.
 Abdeslem/Cecile will present on interfaces.
 Recommend that INFO-D connect with Streams Session and Movement of Data
Session 
 at GGF.
