Dear Glue WG,

Our colleague, Laurence Field, recently completed a PhD in Computer Science and wrote his thesis on "Improving the Currency of Information in Large-Scale Grid Information Systems”. It offers a lot of insight into many topics, including our recent discussion on data propagation and stale data. Laurence was intimately involved in the GLUE WG for a long time and thus his observations should be very useful to us.
