----

I'd like to hear from each of the areas what progress has been made
in the past few months. My concern is (always, with any group) that
it's so easy for GGF groups to settle into the mode where work gets
done only in the 3-4 weeks prior to a GGF meeting. And all too often
even that work only consists of organizing verbal exchanges at the
meeting (i.e. just talking) or window-dressing.

I'm not saying this is where GIN is at, but it is after all the
equilibrium point for any collaboration! I would rather that we are
ruthless in self-evaluation of our work (even though the context is
that we are all friends and doing good work in our day jobs!)

In this context, then... What have we accomplished?

Charlie's Progress Report
* In March I contacted the people who volunteered resources to GIN,
asking for contact names and info. I received responses from less
than 1/4 of the 20 people who stood up in Athens and pledged
support. I did not follow up
* At GGF in May I exchanged words with people.
* At TeraGrid'06 in June I exchanged more words with people.
* I have told lots of people about GIN.
* (none of the above is particularly useful, so an alternate report
would say "I've done nothing concrete")

What have others done?

CeC
