Hello All,

Following on from the many years of service that Geoffrey has given OGF as
VP of e-Science I have been voted in by the board to take over. Firstly I
would like to thank Geoffrey for all of the work that he put in making sure
that the e-Science community was a busy as possible with new ideas etc
coming through as often as possible throughout his term of office.

Taking over my main aim will be to ensure that the current position of OGF
(standards being published and implemented, several communities profiling
them for their own needs etc.) is recognised by the communities that helped
form it in the first place, that of e-Science.

To help us know where we are starting a thorough evaluation of the
e-Science/e-Research area in OGF is needed. I would therefore ask each of
you to contact me directly with,
1) your groups current status including a brief plan on how you see it
moving forward over the next year etc. Should you think that the activity
has reached a conclusion then could you also please email me. That way we
will have an accurate measure of where the groups stand etc as we head
towards OGF26 and 27.
2) Your current status in OGF, do you still regularly participate in
meetings etc. This should include if you are not attending anymore why not.

Best wishes

David
