Things happen while you're imprisoned.  Servers crash.  Dentist
appointments pass.  Domains expire.  Credit cards expire.  Eviction
notices get delivered.

There aren't 'exactly systems in place to sort it all out, and people
don't talk about it much.

Of course sitting in a box while often living a life of abuse by peers
and authorities, and being haunted by torturous visions for years on
end, can also be a bummer.
