The US political system is completely rotten, and Trump knows it.

He can tweet pictures of a Trump tower in Greenland, as long the moderate right isn’t convinced, no republican congressman could vote for impeachment without being removed themselves.

The US may as well have elected a horse as President, the ruling elite has no capacity to govern, or to even persuade (why bring up impeachment if you know it isn’t possible?). Maybe democracy has failed. Maybe the elite has failed. It is a mystery at this point, but from any perspective, betting on the Ivy League educated elites is a bad bet.
