Alt-right hipster Gavin McInnes and his Nazi fanboys the "Proud Boys" Shut Down @ NYU
The "Alt-Right". AKA Fascist AKA NeoNazis... Attempting to convince young people that racism, antisemitism, and bigotry, are 'hip'.
Most of the students who were there came to protest.
Gavin McInnes arrived on stage to a chorus of boos. He semi-ironically began his speech by saying he came to discuss the Jew, the black and the Mexican. Beneath his ironic exterior, we knew that his rhetoric about political correctness is only a cover for white supremacy. NYC Antifa reported on Twitter that outside, Proud Boys “sieg heiled the crowd while protected by police.” Protesters continually heckled McInnes as he rambled incoherently about Margaret Thatcher and Argentina.
He then told the crowd that he was pepper sprayed with a water gun. “When I was sprayed I thought, ‘maybe it was acid,’ but then I remembered this isn’t Islam.” That was the breaking point. Many of our classmates and friends who are Muslim have been directly affected by Trump’s Islamophobic travel ban. Chants of “Fuck you” and “Whose campus? Our campus!” drowned out McInnes’s speech.
The dean repeatedly took the mic from McInnes, telling protesters to quiet down because we need to “respect free speech.” We yelled at the dean too, telling him there is no free speech for Nazis. The last time this happened, McInnes said to the dean, “You are ridiculous sir. You are a dumb liberal asshole. You’re a beta male cuck.” That was it. The dean tolerated and even supported McInnes’s racist hate speech, but would not stand for his personal insult and humiliation.
Security escorted McInnes out of the room.

It's nice to think, as someone suggested at one time, that if Hitler had been pants-ed at one of his appearances, every time he tried giving a speech people would have thought of him with his pants down and laughed ... but I'm afraid it's just not that simple. Like politicians in general, Fascists don't 'embarrass'.
The mistake is, quite simply not terrorizing him enough so he never shows his face in public again. (Spencer btw has stated he's afraid to appear but that may be for publicity) Or better, simply off him, and you don't have to worry about him stirring the pot.

Over the last decade or so I have seen a trend in attendance at openly promoted Klan and Nazi rallies in the U.S. Counter demonstrators have started to routinely outnumber the intended turnout, by larger margins as time goes by. The counter demos are increasingly confrontational, successfully disrupting and, more recently, dispersing the Fascists. The best part: I see this happening in "red State" country. Hicks ain't stupid, and Internet access means they can't be kept ignorant. If y'all thought the printing press was a big deal in terms of impact on political affairs, you ain't seen nothing yet. Some people just seem to be born wanting to do radical politics, and we are everywhere. In the Deep South and Midwest where the Klan is still deeply entrenched in law enforcement agencies and local government, they take care to keep the Invisible Empire /really/ invisible, so digging them out of positions of institutional power will take some doing - especially where and as they enjoy the support of Federal law enforcement and political warfare assets.
