Boss is sitting in his office. Vivisected State Worker: "Boss, we got a job to build a speech to text app for free software devs." Boss: "Yeah? Let the money roll in. Put a slave hive on it." Vivisected State Worker: "Gotta love those slave hives." --- Slave Hive 39 Kidnapped Child: "I was thinking about speech to text the other day." Inside-Out Dog: "Yeah? What's the point when you could just make some community do it all by hand, right?" Vivisected State Worker: "Ok, guys, we're building a speech to text app. Open source. For the gnu bosses. They think it'd be cute or something." Kidnapped Child: "Oh boy!"
--- Worker 1: "Mozilla has speech2text software. We should use that so that they might get more devs from the userbase." Worker 2: "Mozilla isn't GPL and their implemented is bloated and not designed for reusability. We should make our own!" Worker 3: "Make our own? This stuff must exist out there already somewhere. What can we work off that already exists?" Confused Person: "I was using huggingface the other day. It's in python, and it isn't GPL, but for some reason I can only remember about 4 words at a time, so it would be easiest to just reuse this, for me." Everybody stares at Confused Person. Worker 1: "Well, Mozilla has already done most of this so you won't be needing me." Worker 2: "This isn't hard to do. All you have to do is copy what's already been done. I'm off to do something interesting." Worker 3: ....

--- The most recent information I've found so far on gneuralnetwork is at https://groups.google.com/g/gnu.announce/c/rx2QwAzClNE/m/F1J3TVRJBQAJ from 2016. The main page on gneural network for indicates it is decontinued. Normally, I'd expect to find some kind of clear message when that happened. The poster of the gneuralnetwork update also mentions archimedes, looks like a chip simulation thing. ---

There is somebody excited to contribute added to the project in 2016, then mostly lone posts without replies sincre. I'm guessing the main dev was hit by an intergalactic missile, and then the decommissioned project status was added by borg invaders that disembarked the missile. --

It was probably already decommissioned and they were so scared to think about it they didn't even update their signature!" Inverted Dog: "That's ridiculous."
