Thanks Zeynep, IMHO there will be never IT security because devices for digital communications and their software are *consumer* goods. Hacker's may think of 'renaming' their status and become officially penetration testers. I know of one person, who regularly pen tests political parties' sites or other 'important' sites, had done this over 130k times and always reported it and never ran into any problems. Regarding the CCC. I remember them from the beginning and remember from that time that they had also 'moles' among them, without knowing it and nowadays, they stay in bed with our political parties and main stream media, so it seems. I like to add to this, that my guess is, due to those above-mentioned design flaws, that only Hacker Units from Russia, China, North Korea etc. can 'survive', because they are IMHO somehow protected. AFAIR We had three well-known hacking clubs. The CCC, The Bavarian Hacker Post and then Hackers in Berlin, with connections, IIRC to Hannover etc. The CCC became famous for their BTX[1] online banking hack, in the 80s. Normally, one would expect from cool hackers IMHO that they act as, say for example, Robin Hood and give the money to poor people or to bad people, increasing their account balance and watching then what they will do.
