There certainly is something VERY wrong. I think that the result is being reported from a location that is 8 positions left of where it should be pointing. Position 9 is where the "random" (ie: Probably correct) data starts. The first 8 positions are f0000Xc0effffba8 (where X increments by 2 for each invocation). Thus this looks like some kind of constant or fixed work area.
