Yes, there are others. Six of these camera systems were installed in Manhattan, and they have been rumored to have issued more than 250 tickets per week each!!! I guess that this means that cops will now have more time to do other things. (Nab bad guys, eat donuts, etc...)
Here in South Africa, we have had unmanned speed traps with cameras since about the mid 1970's, I think, and the unmanned cameras at intersections to catch folk driving through on a red light have been around since the early 1980's. Are such devices uncommon in other countries? --apb (Alan Barrett)

My understanding of the one in Campbell was that the company that owned the van / built the gizmo got a cut of the action. I also understand that they discontinued it, because you had to post a cop next to the thing so that people wouldn't just take a hammer to it.
