Actually, the "commerce pov" will probably be the one which kills all arguments for anonymity. digital bearer certificates, like digital cash, are always going to be cheaper than book entries. Bearer certificates are the ultimate economic argument for anonymity. We just couldn't implement them until Chaum figured out how.
