I speak as a father who has raised four children who turned out to be independent beings to successful adulthood and families of their own, not as a theoretician.

Most of my knowledge on the subject comes from a friend of mine... who's a grandfather (raised 5 children) and a trained child psychiatrist. Until he left his most recent position (in Alabama), he was the head of their child psychiatry training program. -Allen
