One of twelve appointments announced today by the White House: DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA COURT OF APPEALS Emilio W. Cividanes, D.C. Court of Appeals Mr. Cividanes, of Washington, D.C., is of counsel to the law firm Piper & Marbury, L.L.P. Since 1991, Mr. Cividanes has taught information privacy law as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center. Before joining Piper & Marbury as an associate in 1988, he served one year as counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Technology & the Law, under then-Chairman Senator Patrick Leahy. From 1983 to 1986, he was a civil litigation associate with the law firm of Dickstein, Shapiro & Morin. Mr. Cividanes received his B.A. in 1979, from Haverford College and his J.D. in 1983, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a comment editor on the Law Review.
