The National Communications Systems published in the Federal Register of February 6, a notice of FTR1024 covering Land Mobile Radio, Project 25. The recommentation specifies encryption: DES (Type 3) and Type 1 for classified use. The specifications are based on seven public TIA documents and one classified NSA document.
