These are the minutes from the informal meeting we had at IETF. As you can see the focus of the work shifted from a narrowly defined anti-spam concept to a more generalized mail filtering routine. I, and others, have come to believe that shifting the focus like this will be more effective in the long run.
This is not to say that this is the only way to combat spamming. However, at the present time it does seem the most promising and most likely to garner IETF support.
I'll be making some annnouncements with regards to direction and focus and other resources in the next couple of days. I'm also going to start working on a proposed Charter for this. If all goes well there is a possibility we can have a real honest to goodness official type BOF in Memphis.
