I don't know if Tim actually read all of it, or the second part, but Katz spent most of the two-part piece explaining why he _wasn't_ going to attend, and why no other "good guy" should attend this or similar conferences (quite apart from the truth about confs usually being just an excuse to schmooze).
The second part also had a full list of invitees, which included Wired's Kevin Kelly (who Katz complained _is_ going) but, funnily enough, Esther's _not_ on there.
