Announcement

Formation of Three new NIST Cloud Computing Working Groups:
Cloud Services, Federated Community Cloud and Interoperability & Portability.

Joint telecon kickoff session on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. EDT

Three public working groups are being formed to address requirements laid out in the USG Cloud Computing Standards and Technology Roadmap.

The Cloud Service PWG will perform a study of Cloud Services and methodologies to determine their characteristics and properties to address Requirement 4 - Clearly and consistently categorized cloud services.

The Federated Community Cloud PWG will develop a framework to support seamless implementations of disparate community cloud environments that will address Requirement 5 - Frameworks to support seamless implementation of federated community cloud environments.

The Interoperability & Portability for Cloud Computing PWG will identify the issues and types of interoperability and portability needed for cloud computing systems, the relationships and interactions between interoperability and portability; and contexts where interoperability and portability are relevant in cloud computing.

The leaders for the PWGs will host a joint telecon kickoff session on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. EDT to discuss the desired outcomes of the groups, the roles and responsibilities of the members, meeting schedules and deliverable dates.
