Abstract: This document describes and evaluates approaches and
solutions for firewall issues, such as application level gateways,
host based firewalls, VPN style gateways etc., which are currently
available to solve some of the problems Grid applications may face
when dealing with firewalls located between the source and the
destination of their communication paths.
